Քառօրյա պատերազմում զոհված Ադամ Սահակյանն այսօր՝ օգոստոսի 19-ին, կդառնար 21 տարեկան:
Ադամ Սահակյանը սահմանապահ գումարտակից էր, ապրիլի 1-ի առավոտյան բարձրացել էր դիրքեր, հենց այդ գիշեր էլ հակառակորդը լայնամասշտաբ հարձակում գործեց շփման գծի ամբողջ երկայնքով: Հակառակորդի կողմից դիրքերի՝ 15-20 րոպե տեւած ծանր հրետակոծությունից հետո դիրքի ավագ Ադամ Սահակյանի գլխավորությամբ 7 հոգուց բաղկացած սահմանապահ ուժերն անցնում են շրջանաձեւ պաշտպանության: Սերժանտ Ադամ Սահակյանը, իր զինակից ընկերների հետ 5 ժամ շարունակ մարտնչելով թշնամու դեմ, հասցնելով նրան զգալի կորուստներ, ընկնում է հերոսի մահով՝ առավոտյան ժամը 8:00-ի սահմանում։ Ադամ Սահակյանի՝ թշնամու դեմ մղած 5-ժամյա պայքարը հնարավորություն է տվել Ջրական հայկական գնդին տեղակայվել ռազմաճակատի 2-րդ գծում եւ կանգնեցնել հակառակորդին։
Ադամ Սահակյանը մայիսի 28-ին նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի հրամանով հետմահու պարգեւատրվել է «Արիության համար» մեդալով, իսկ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետության նախագահ Բակո Սահակյանը նրան շնորհել է «Մարտական ծառայության համար» մեդալ:
