NASA-ի մարսյան ամենահին ուղեծրային արբանյակից տվյալների մանրակրկիտ վերլուծությունը հանգեցրել է արդյունքների, որոնք անսպասելի էին գիտնականների համար՝ Կարմիր մոլորակը թաքցնում է ջրային սառույցը այնտեղ, որտեղ այն չպետք է լիներ, հայտնում է Hi-Tech News-ը։

 Mars Odyssey զոնդից ստացված տվյալների կրկնակի ստուգումը բացահայտել է ջրի սառույցի տպավորիչ պաշարի առկայություն, որը գտնվում է մարսյան հասարակածի մակերեսի վրա։ Բայց հաշվի առնելով այդ մոլորակի կլիմայի մասին գիտելիքները՝ այս տարրն այնտեղ անկհայտորեն «ավելորդ է»։

Տվյալների վերագնահատում է իրականացրել գիտնականների խումբը՝ մոլորակագետ Ջեք Ուիլսոնի ղեկավարությամբ։ Հետազոտողները վերլուծել են տվյալները, որոնք հավաքվել են «Ոդիսեւս» զոնդի նեյտրոնային սպեկտրոմետրի օգնությամբ, ու հայտնաբերել ջրածնի առկայություն Մարսի մակերեսին մոտ։ Զոնդի առանցքային խնդիրներից մեկն է հենց Մարսի վրա ջրի որոնումը, սակայն հաշվի առնելով ուղեծրի առանձնահատկությունները, որի բարձրությոնը երբեմն հասնում է մոլորակի մակերեսից 3800 կմ-ի, զոնդը չի կարող ուղղակիորեն կատարել անհրաժեշտ չափուները։ Սակայն դրա առկայության ցուցիչն է դարձել ջրածինը։ Զոնդը կարող է ընդամենը կարող է որոշել ջրածնի առկայությունը՝ դատելով նեյտրոնների մասին տվյալներից։

Օգտագործելով Բայեսովյան հավանականության մեթոդը՝ գիտնականները վերարտադրել են տարածաշրջանների պատկերները, որպեսզի ստանան վերոնշյալ նեյտրոնների հայտնաբերման ավելի ամբողջական պատկերը։ Արդյունքում հետազոտողները հայտնաբերել են ենթադրյալ ու մինչ այդ չհայտնաբերված ջրամբարների առկայություն՝ այդ թվում մոլորակի հասարակածային լայնություններում։

Սա շատ կարեւոր հայտնագործություն է, քանի որ ավելացնում է մոլորակի պիտանելիությունը բնակության համար։ Բայց մինչ այդ դեռ պետք է պարզել, թե հատկապես ինչպես է այդ սառույցն այնտեղ հայտնվել։

Ու այդ հարցի պատասխանը գտնելու համար լրացուցիչ հետազոտություններ են անհրաժեշտ։
