Իսպանացի գիտնականները հայտարարել են, որ մածունը հանդիսանում է լավագույն դեղամիջոցը դեպրեսիայի դեմ։ Նավարայի համալսարանի աշխատակիցների կատարած հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են թեմատիկ ամսագրում։
Նշվում է, որ ավելի քան 300 միլիոն մարդ ամբողջ աշխարհում տառապում է դեպրեսիայից։ Այսօր բժիշկները գտել են միջոց, որը կօգնի ազատվել հոգեբանական այս հիվանդությունից՝ առանց որևէ կողմնակի հետևանքների։
Այս թեզի հաստատման համար իսպանացի բժիշկներն անցկացրել են լայնածավալ գիտափորձ՝ 14,5 հազար մարդկանց մասնակցությամբ։
9 տարի շարունակ բժիշկները հետևել են մասնակիցների հուզական ու հոգեբանական վիճակը։ Հատուկ ուշադրություն է դարձվել նրանց սննդային ռացիոնին։ Արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ բնական մածունը նվազեցնում է դեպրեսիայի առաջացման ու զարգացման հավանականությունը 22 տոկոսով։
Համարվում է, որ այս մթերքի հիմնական գաղտնիքը կայանում է նրանում պարունակվող մեծ քանակությամբ պրոբիոտիկ բակտերիաների մեջ։ Ստացվում է, որ դրանք կարող են արյան մեջ նվազեցնել կինուրենինի մակարդակը, ինչը գիտական աշխարհում անվանում են«դժբախտության հորմոն»։
