Ամեն տարի ամբողջ աշխարհում անհետ կորում են հազարավոր մարդիկ: Նրանցից մի քանիսին, բարեբախտաբար, գտնում են, իսկ մնացածն այդպես էլ չեն վերադառնում: Առավել տարօրինակ են այն դեպքերը, երբ մարդիկ անգամ առանց որևէ պատճառի են անհետանում՝ կարծես օդում կորելով:

 

1. Ջիմ Սալլիվեն

1969 թ. երաժիշտ Ջիմ Սալլիվենը նոր ալբոմ ձայնագրեց U.F.O («Չ.Թ.Օ.») անունով: Ալբոմի երգերի բառերը չափազանց տարօրինակ էին և վերաբերում էին այն բանին, թե ինչպես լքել ընտանիքն ու գողացվել այլմոլորակայինների կողմից: Սալլիվենը վեց տարի անց անհետ կորավ մեքենայով Լոս Անջելեսից Նեշվիլ գնալիս: Նրան այլևս երբեք չեն տեսել և չեն էլ լսել նրա մասին, իսկ մեքենան կիթառի հետ ավելի ուշ գտնվել է լքված ու անապատի վերածված ճանապարհի վրա:

 

2. Մեդլին ՄաքՔանն

2007 թ. մայիսին երեքամյա Մեդլին ՄաքՔաննն իր ընտանիքի հետ Պորտուգալիայում էր՝ հանգստանալու: Երեկոյան նրա ծնողները երեխաներին թողեցին քնելու և գնացին հարևանությամբ գտնվող բար՝ ընթրելու: Մեդլինի մայրը վերադարձել է և տեսել, որ աղջնակը մահճակալի մեջ չէ: Փնտրողական աշխատանքները ոչ մի արդյունք չտվեցին: Մեդլինի անհետացումը մեծ ուշադրություն գրավեց և դարձավ ամենահայտնի պատմություններից մեկն անհայտ կորած մարդկանց մասին:

 

3. Լուի Լեպրենս

Լուի Լեպրենսը, ով ֆրանսիացի գյուտարար էր, հայտնի է «կինեմատոգրաֆիայի հայր» անունով: 1888 թ. հոկտեմբերի 14-ին նա նկարահանեց աշխարհում առաջին ֆիլմը՝ «Դեպք Ռաունդհեի այգում» վերնագրով: 1890 թ. սեպտեմբերին՝ Մեծ Բրիտանիա ուղևորվելուց առաջ, Լեպրենսը որոշեց ընտանիքին տեղավորել Դիժոնում: Հետադարձ ճանապարհին նա նստեց Դիժոն-Փարիզ ճեպընթացը, սակայն երբ գնացքը տեղ հասավ, Լեպրենսը դրա մեջ չէր: Այնտեղ չէին նաև նրա իրերը:

 

4. Բրայան Շեֆֆեր

Բժշկական համալսարանի 27-ամյա ուսանողը անհետ կորել է 2006 թ. ապրիլի 1-ին: Վերջին անգամ նա եղել է ուսանոողական քաղաքի մոտակայքում գտնվող Ugly Tuna Saloona բարում: Տեսախցիկների ձայնագրությունները ցույց են տվել, թե ինչպես է Բրայանը մտնում բար, սակայն այնտեղից դուրս չի եկել: Միակ ետնամուտքը, որից կարող էր տղան դուրս գալ, տանում էր դեպի անանցանելի շինհրապարակ:

 

5. Բիզոն Դելե

Բիզոն Դելեն թողեց բասկետբոլը 1999 թվականին և որոշեց ճանապարհորդել: 2002 թ. հուլիսի 6-ին իր եղբոր, պապիկի և նավապետի հետ նա զբոսանավ նստեց, որն ուղղվում էր դեպի Թաիթի: Միակը, որն այնտեղից վերադարձավ, Բիզոնի եղբայրն էր՝ Մայլզ Դեբորդը: Մի քանի օր անց ոստիկանությունը հայտնաբերեց, որ Դեբորդն օգտագործել է Դելեի անձնագիրը, ինչպես նաև կեղծել է նրա ստորագրությունը, որպեսզի 152 հզ դոլար գումար դուրս գրի: Ավելի ուշ Դեբորդը ինքնասպան եղավ, սակայն այդպես էլ չբացեց գաղտնիքը, թե ինչ է պատահել Բիզոն Դելեի և երկու այլ մարդկանց հետ:
