Գերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Զիգմար Գաբրիելը քննադատել է ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի արձագանքը Փհենյանի սադրանքներին։ «Սեփական գոլֆ ակումբում նստած դժոխքը հիշատակելը ճիշտ արձագանք չէ»,-հայտարարել է Գաբրիելը Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland խմբի պարբերականների հետ հարցազրույցում։
«Արձակուրդում գտնվելով՝ Թրամփն ասես իմիջիայլոց հիշեցնում է դժոխքի կրակն ու զայրույթը։ Անկեղծորեն խոստովանեմ՝ նմանատիպ անպատասխանատվությունը ցնցում է առաջացնում», - հավելել է Գերմանիայի ԱԳՆ ղեկավարը։ Գաբրիելն ընդգծել է, որ ճգնաժամի սրման համար պատասխանատվություն է կրում հյուսիսկորեացի բռնապետ Կիմ Չեն Ընը։
Զիգմար Գաբրիելը ԱՄՆ-ին եւ Հարավային Կորեային կոչ է արել օգոստոսի 21-ին կայանալիք ամենամյա պլանային զորավարժություններն անցկացնել «հնարավորին քիչ սադրանքով»։ Հակառակ պարագայում ԿԺԴՀ-ն այդ զորավարժությունները կարող է որպես սադրանքների առիթ օգտագործել, «օրինակ՝ միջին հեռահարության հրթիռներով Գուամ կղզուն հարվածելու համար»։
Գերմանիայի ԱԳՆ ղեկավարը նաեւ համոզված է, որ Ռուսաստանն ու Չինաստանը պետք է ուժգնացնեն Փհենյանի վրա ճնշումը։
