Այս մարդը ճանճի մեկ խայթոցի պատճառով կորցրեց ամեն ինչ

Ամուսնական երեք տասնամյակից հետո անգամ Քրիստին և Հերի Նյումանները սիրում էին իրար այնպես, ինչպես իրենց հանդիպման առաջին օրը: Նրանց կյանքը լի էր երջանկությամբ և ուրախությամբ՝ շնորհիվ երեք երեխաների և վեց թոռների, որոնց տեսնում էին ամեն շաբաթ: Սակայն մի մռայլ օր երջանիկ կյանքն ավարտվեց;
Հերին շինարար էր: 2015 թ. շինհարթակի վրա նրան խայթեց ճանճանման մի կենդանի. ամեն դեպքում նա այդպես էր մտածում: Հերին դրան կարևորություն չտվեց և շարունակեց աշխատանքը: Սակայն ժամեր անց սկսեց իրեն վատ զգալ:
Երբ Հերին տուն եկավ, խոստովանեց կնոջը, որ վատ է զգում և առանց ընթրելու գնաց քնելու: Գիշերը Քրիստինն արթնացավ, որովհետև ամուսինն իրեն չափազանց վատ էր զգում:
Նա միանգամից շտապօգնություն զանգահարեց, և Հերիին տարան հիվանդանոց: Անհամար անալիզներն արդյունք չտվեցին, սակայն չորս օր անց Հերին հիշեց ճանճի մասին: Այդ ժամանակ բժիշկները հասկացան, որ նրան խայթել է արյունախում Բլանդֆորդյան ճանճը, որը հանդիպում է հիմնականում Եվրոպայում:
Հերիի մոտ նկատվեց գլխուղեղի սուր բորբոքում, օրգանիզմի դանդաղ ռեակցիա:
Հերին հիվանդանոցում մնաց երեք շաբաթ, այնուհետև նրան դուրս գրեցին: Տանը նա պետք է անկողնային ռեժիմ պահպաներ և հակաբիոտիկներով բուժում անցներ: Հենց այդ ժամանակ էր, որ Քրիստինը հուսահատության գիրկն ընկավ, քանի որ Հերին կորցրել էր հիշողությունը և չէր էլ հիշում, թե նա ով է: Սա Ալցհայմերի հիվանդություն կամ տկարամտություն չէր, այլ հասարակ խայթոց:
Քրիստինը խոստովանում է, որ իրավիճակը գնալով բարդանում է. «Նա չի կարողանում համ կամ հոտ զգալ, մարդկանց հետ նորմալ շփվել: Նա գիտի, որ ես իր կինն եմ, սակայն ընդհանրապես չի հիշում ինձ: Ես ամեն ինչ անում եմ Հերիիի համար, սակայն դա շատ, շատ սթրեսային է»:
«Ամեն առավոտ մտածում եմ, որ ես քնած եմ: Ես ուղղակի հուսով եմ, որ մի օր կարթնանամ, և ամեն ինչ լավ կլինի»,- ասում է ինքը՝ Հերրին:
