Ստամբուլահայ լուսանկարիչ Մուրադ Էզերը որոշել է ցեղասպանությունից մեկ դար անց հետազոտել հայկական հետքերը պատմական Սեբաստիա նահանգում, որտեղ դեռևս շուրջ չորս տասնամյակ առաջ ապրում էին քրիստոնյա հայ ընտանիքներ, որոնք ավելի ուշ արտագաղթեցին Ստամբուլ:

Ինչպես գրում է Ստամբուլի հայկական պարբերականներից «Ակօսը», 
Սեբաստաիայի՝ ժամանակին հայաշատ Զարա շրջանում իր ուսումնասիրությունների ժամանակ Մուրադ Էզերը հանդիպել և խոսել է տեղի տարեցների հետ:

«Հայերը գնացին,պատմության անիվը պտտվեց, այս հողերն անտեր մնացին, տղա՛ս», - պատմել է տեղացի մեծահասակ կանանցից մեկը, հիշում է պոլսահայ լուսանկարիչը:

Վերջինս փաստում է, որ պատմական հիշողությունն այս տարածքներում առավել քան կենդանի է, սակայն մարդիկ երբեմն լռում են շրջապատի ճնշման ներքո: Ըստ Մուրադ Էզերի՝ վախի մթնոլորտը դեռևս անցած չէ:

«Լռի՛ր, այ կին, ինչ ես ամեն ինչ պատմում, ինչ գիտես սա ով է, գուցե լրտես է, գուցե լրագրող է», - փորձել է լռեցնել պոլսահայ լուսանկարչի հետ զրույցի բռնված տատիկին իր տան անդամներից մեկը:

«Նա Ստամբուլից իմ հյուրն է: Հայերի մասին ինչ գիտեմ պատմելու եմ: Այս տարիքից հետո ումի՞ց պիտի վախենամ: Դու գործիդ նայիր», - պատասխանել է ծեր կինը:

«Մի կերպ ինձ զսպեցի, որ աչքերիցս արցունք չթափվի», - նշում է Սեբաստիա հասած ստամբուլահայ լուսանկարիչը:
