Մարդիկ միշտ տարատեսակ փոփոխություններ են կատարել այն վայրերում, որտեղ բնակություն են հաստատել: Արդյունքում դրանցից շատերը ամբողջապես «փչացել» են և դարձել անապահով: Հարյուրամյակների ընթացքում մարդը սովորել է հմտորեն կործանել մոլորակը:

 

1. Սիբիրախտի կղզիներ

Կղզիների անվանումն արդեն ամեն ինչ ասում է: Ողջ մոլորակում դրանք երեքն են, և օգտագործվել են ԱՄՆ-ում, ԽՍՀՄ-ում ու Մեծ Բրիտանիայում բիոլոգիական զենքեր փորձարկելու համար: Դրանցից մեկը Գրյուինարդն է, որը գտնվում է Շոտլանդիայի ափերին և բնակչությունից զրկվել է տասնամյակներ շարունակ սիբիրախտի դեմ «պայքարելուց» հետո: Հաջորդ կղզին Արալի ծովի Վերածնունդն է, մյուսը՝ Պլամը, որը գտնվում է Նյու Յորքից ոչ հեռու: Այնտեղ է գտնվում Կենդանիների հիվանդությունների կենտրոնը:

 

2. Կորեական ապառազմականացված տարածք

«Ապառազմականացված» բառը շփոթություն կարող է առաջացնել, քանի որ այս տարածքը գտնվում է Հյուսիսային և Հարավային Կորեաների սահմանների մեջտեղում: Այն կարելի է «ձեռնպահ» տարածք համարել: Տարածքի երկարությունը 250 կմ է, լայնությունը՝ 4 կմ, և այստեղ կենտրոնացված է աշխարհի հակահետևակային ականների մեծ մասը: Ոտք դնելը խիստ վտանգավոր քայլ է: Երկու կողմերն էլ մշտապես հսկում են սահմանը, այդ իսկ պատճառով հատելն այն չափազանց բարդ է՝ չհաշված այն, որ նաև մահացու վտանգավոր է:

 

3. Գիլման, Կոլորադո

Այս հանքարդյունաբերական քաղաքը «առաջացել» է 1886 թ. Կոլորադյան արծաթագույն բումի հետևանքով: Այժմ այն քաղաք-ուրվական է, որը բնակիչները լքել են ցինկով, կապարով, կադմիումով, մկնդեղով և սուլֆիդներով աղտոտման հետևանքով: Այդ երևույթը դանդաղ առաջ էր ընթանում 20-րդ դարից սկսած: Գիլմանը երբեք մեծ բնակչություն չի ունեցել, իսկ վերջին տարիներին բնակիչները կազմում էին մոտ 300 հոգի: Այժմ քաղաքում բնակվելն ուղղակի անհնար է, քանի որ այն հիմնովին մաքրման կարիք ունի:

 

4. Պիչեր, Օկլահոմա

Հրաշալի վայր է այցելելու համար, եթե ցանկանում եք թունավորվել կապարից: ՄԵրօրյա ուրվական-քաղաքը լքվել է մարդկանց կողմից ոչ միայն հողի անկայունությունից, որը սպառնում էր մի օր ավիրել բոլոր շինությունները, այլ ծանր մետաղների պատճառով. 1996 թ. տեղի երեխաների 34%-ը թունավորվեց կապարից: Կար ժամանակ, երբ Պիչերը համարվում էր շրջանի տնտեսական կենտրոնը, քանի որ ցինկի և կապարի մեծ պաշարներ ուներ: Բնակչությունը կազմում էր 20 հազար մարդուց ավելի, որոնցից 14 հազարը հանքագործներ էին: Այժմ այս վայրը ամայի տարածք է:

 

5. Արալի ծով

Արալի ծովը մի ժամանակ մեծ լիճ էր համարվում Ղազախստանի և Ուզբեկստանի միջև: Սակայն կլիմայական գլոբալ փոփոխությունների արդյունքում այն ցամաքեց: Ինչպես վերը նշեցինք, Վերածննդի կղզին մի ժամանակ գտնվում էր հենց Արալի ծովում, սակայն այն այժմ գոյություն չունի, քանի որ չոր անապատի է վերածվել: Փաստացիորեն, լճի սկզբնական վիճակից ընդամենը 10%-ն է այսօր մնացել: Այս երևույթն այսօր անվանվում է «մոլորակի վատագույն էկոլոգիական սարսափներից մեկը»: Շրջանը մի ժամանակ ծաղկող տարածք էր, իսկ այսօր մահացած վայր՝ Արալկումի անապատ անվանմամբ:
