«Տիգրան Սարգսյանի՝ ԵՏՄ տնտեսական հանձնաժողովի կոլեգիայի նախագահ նշանակվելով, 2016-ի փետրվարի 1-ից ԱՄՆ-ում ՀՀ դեսպանի պաշտոնը թափուր կմնա։ Ընդամենը նախօրեին է կայացվել ՀՀ նախկին վարչապետին Մոսկվա գործուղելու որոշումը, սակայն արդեն բուռն կրքեր են եռում ԱՄՆ-ում դեսպանի՝ բոլոր ժամանակներում խիստ գաղթակղիչ աթոռի համար։ Թեև նախօրեին լուր տարածվեց, թե Արմեն Աշոտյանն է այնտեղ նշանակվելու, սակայն ԱԳՆ մեր աղբյուրներն ասում են, որ թեժ
մարտեր են ընթանում ԱԳ փոխնախարարների միջև։
Հատկապես այդ պաշտոնին հավակնում են Աշոտ Հովակիմյանը եւ Կարեն Նազարյանը։ Հովակիմյանը 1999-2006 թթ. եղել է Լեհաստանում, 2006-2011 թթ. Ավստրիայում, Հունգարիայում, Չեխիայում, Սլովակիայում ՀՀ դեսպան, 2008-2011 թթ.՝ ԵԱՀԿ-ում և ՄԱԿ-ում ՀՀ մշտական ներկայացուցիչ։ Կարեն Նազարյանը եղել է 2005-2009 թթ. Իրանում ՀՀ դեսպան և 1996– 2014թթ.՝ ընդմիջումներով, ՄԱԿ-ում ՀՀ դեսպան, մշտական ներկայացուցիչ»,–գրում է թերթը։
