2011 թվականին Քեթի և Ջասթին Պատենները երկվորյակների էին սպասում։ Երկվորյակներն ուր որ է պետք է լույս աշխարհ գային ու համալրեին ընտանիքը, սակայն իրավիճակն անսպասելի զարգացումներ ստացավ. Քեթիի մոտ ցավերը սկսվեցին հղիության 23-րդ շաբաթին։ Փոքրիկներ Այդենն ու Գևինը չափազանց շուտ ծնվեցին ու մահացան արդեն հաջորդ օրը։
Քեթին ու Ջասթինը հասկանում էին, որ երբեք չեն կարողանալու մոռանալ իրենց առաջնեկներին, երկար ողբից ու սգից հետո զույգը վերջապես կրկին որոշում է երեխա ունենալ։ Շուտով լույս աշխարհ եկավ Ավան, իսկ երեք տարի անց ծնվեց նրա կրտսեր քույրիկ Ջուլիանը։
Քեթին որոշում է ֆոտոսեսիա կազմակերպել ու հավերժացնել իրենց ընտանիքի ամենաուրախ դրվագներն իրենց փոքրիկ երեխաների հետ։ Լուսանկարիչ Լինդա Գիտինսը նրանց համար օր է նշանակում, և ամեն ինչ հիանալի էր ընթանում, մինչև այն պահը, երբ Քեթիի դեմքը ծանրացավ տխրությունից։
Այդ պահին մայրը հասկացավ, որ իր մահացած երկվորյակներին է կարոտել ու ցանկացավ, որ նրանք էլ անպայմանորեն լինեն այդ ընտանեկան ֆոտոշարքում։ Մայրը ցանկանում էր ցույց տալ, որ իր երկվորյակները երբեք չեն դադարել ընտանիքի անդամ լինել, որ սիրում ու հիշում է նրանց՝ անկախ ամեն ինչից։
Իմանալով այս մասին՝ Լինդան գտավ օրիգինալ լուծում։ Նա ավելացրեց երկու տղաների ստվերներ, որոնք ասես իրենց ծնողների ձեռքն են բռնել։ Տեսնելով սա՝ Քեթին ու Ջասթինը փշաքաղվեցին հուզմունքից։
Այս ընտանեկան լուսանկարը երբեք թույլ չի տա, որ Պատենների առաջնեկները մոռացվեն։
