Այսօր աշխարհը նշում է գարեջրի միջազգային օրը

Արդեն 10-րդ անընդմեջ տարին օգոստոսի առաջին ուրբաթ օրը նվիրված է աշխարհի ամենահին խմիչքներից մեկին, որը մեծ ժողովրդականություն է վայելում տարբեր ազգերի կողմից: Տոնի հիմնադիրն է գարեջրատան սեփականատեր Ջես Ավշալոմովը, ով նման կերպ փորձում էր բարձրացնել իր գարեջրատան գրավչությունը: 2012 թվականից տոնը նշում է աշխարհի 50 երկրների 207 քաղաքներում:
Ամենահին խմիչքներից մեկը, հնագետների տվյալներով, գարեջուրն առաջին անգամ պատրաստել են Եգիպտոսում մեր թվարկությունից առաջ 9-րդ հազարամյակում: Սակայն որոշ գիտնականներ համարում են, որ գարեջուրը պատրաստվել է այն ժամանակ, երբ մարդիկ սկսել են հացահատիկային բույսեր աճեցնել: Ավելին, նրանք պնդում են, որ ի սկզբանե մեր նախնիները հենց գարեջրի համար են այդ բույսերը աճեցնել:
Գարեջրի պատրաստման պատմությունը Հայաստանում տանում է դեպի հեռավոր անցյալ: Հայտնի փաստ է, որ դեռևս մ. թ. ա. 5-րդ դարի հույն պատմաբան Քսենոֆոնը իր «Անաբասիս» աշխատության մեջ հիշատակում է, թե ինչպես է ինքը Հայաստանում գարեջուր համտեսել՝ նշելով այդ ըմպելիքի պատրաստման եղանակն ու համային գերազանց հատկությունները:
19-րդ դարի 80-ական թվականներին Ռուսական կայսրությունում սկսեց լայն թափով զարգանալ շշալցված գարեջրի պատրաստման արտադրությունը՝ գարեջրի գործարանային արտադրություններ սկսեցին հիմնվել նաև Կովկասում, այդ թվում մեր տարածաշրջանում՝ Երևան, Ալեքսանդրապոլ (Գյումրի) և Կարս քաղաքներում: Գարեջուր պատրաստելու համար հայ արտադրողները անհրաժեշտ հումքը` բարձրորակ գարին ստանում էին հիմնականում Կարսի մարզից: Այսօր Հայաստանում կան բազմաթիվ գարեջրի գործարաններ, որոնք իրենց բարձր որակով չեն զիջում այլ երկրներին:
«Արմենպրես»-ը կից ներկայացնում է գարեջրի մասին հետաքրքիր փաստեր.
-Աշխարհում ամենաշատ գարեջուր օգտագործող ազգը համարվում են գերմանացիները: Գերմանացիներին մի փոքր զիջում են չեխերը և իռլանդացիները:
-Աշխարհի ամենամեծ գործարանը գտնվում է ԱՄՆ-ում` «Adolph Coors Company-ին: Գործարանը արտադրում է տարեկան 2.5 միլիարդ լիտր գարեջուր:
-«Lowebrau» գարեջրի մեկ շիշը աճուրդում վաճառվել է 16 հազար դոլարով: Դա միակ շիշն էր, որը չէր կոտրվել Գերմանիայում տեղի ունեցած 1937 թվականի դիրիժաբլի կործանման ժամանակ :
-Աշխարհի ամենահայտնի գարեջրի փառատոնը «Oktoberfest»-ն է, որ կազմակերպվում է սեպտեմբերին Գերմանիայում:
