Օրական ընդամենը երկու թեյի գդալ աղը բարձրացնում է զարկերակային ճնշումն ու լրջորեն վնասում սրտի առողջությանը՝ մեծացնելով մի շարք սիրտ-անոթային հիվանդությունների եւ կաթվածի վտանգը: Այս մասին զգուշացնում են Harvard University-ի գիտնականները:
Գիտնականները միջինը 49 տարեկան 2996 մարդկանց մասնակցությամբ անցկացված հետազոտության ընթացքում վերլուծել են աղի ընդունման եւ սրտի աշխատանքի միջեւ կապը: Նրանց սննդակարգում աղի մակարդակը գնահատվել է մեզի անալիզի օգնությամբ: Ուլտրաձայնային հետազոտությունն օգնել է որոշել կամավորների սրտի կառուցվածքը:
Մասնագետները պարզել են, որ այն մարդկանց մոտ, որոնք օրական ընդամենը 3.73 գրամ աղ են օգտագործել, արդեն կարելի է սրտի խոռոչների մեծացում նկատել: Նախորդ հետազոտությունների արդյունքում ենթադրում էին, որ սիրտը կարող է մեծանալ, եթե այն աշխատում է ավելորդ ծանրաբեռնվածությամբ՝ տարբեր խանգարումների պատճառով, օրինակ՝ զարկերակային ճնշման: Աղը նաեւ մեծացնում է սրտամկանի ծանրաբեռնվածությունը, արագացնում սրտի բաբախյունը:
Փորձագետները խորհուրդ են տալիս օրական մեկ քառորդ թեյի գդալից ավելի աղ չօգտագործել: Սակայն մարդկանց մեծ մասը շատ ավելին է օգտագործում՝ նույնիսկ չիմանալով այդ մասին: Բանն այն է, որ պատրաստի ուտեստները մեծ քանակությամբ աղ են պարունակում:
Ավելի վաղ գիտնականները նաեւ ապացուցել էին, որ սննդակարգում աղի ավելցուկը նպաստում է օրգանիզմում ջրի կուտակմանը, ինչը նույնպես բարձրացնում է զարկերակային ճնշումը: Բարձր ճնշումը վտանգավոր է սրտի, զարկերակների, երիկամների եւ ուղեղի համար:
