Ռուսաստան-Միացյալ Նահանգներ հարաբերություններում ճգնաժամային նոր փուլի պայմաններում Հայաստան-ԱՄՆ, ինչպես նաև Հայաստան-ՆԱՏՕ փոխհարաբերություններում վերջին մի քանի շաբաթներին ուշագրավ իրադարձություններ են տեղի ունեցել: ԱՄՆ-ի և Հայաստանի միջև տնտեսական համագործակցության մեծ ներուժ կա՝ վերջերս Կոնգրեսում հայտարարեց ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարության ներկայացուցիչը: Նրա խոսքով՝ մարդասիրական օգնության տրամադրման փոխարեն ԱՄՆ-ը ցանկանում է Հայաստանի հետ առևտրատնտեսական հարաբերություններ զարգացնել՝ հաղորդում էր «Ամերիկայի ձայնը»:
ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարի օգնականի պաշտոնակատար Ջոն Հեֆերնը, որը հայ-ամերիկյան գործընկերության մասին ամենատեղեկացված մարդկանցից է, 2011- 2014-ը Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ դեսպան էր: Կոնգրեսում լսումների ընթացքում պատասխանելով կոնգրեսական Բրեդ Շերմանի հարցին՝ նշել է, որ հայ-ամերիկյան տնտեսական հարաբերություններն ունեն կարևորագույն ներուժ. «Մենք ցանկանում ենք օգնություն տրամադրման հիմնված վրա մեր երկկողմ հարաբերությունները զարգացնել՛ հասնելով առևտրային համագործակցության վրա հիմնված հարաբերությունների»: Պետքարտուղարության ներկայացուցիչը հավելել է, որ 2015թ. մայիսին կնքված հայ-ամերիկյան առևտրի և ներդրումների պայմանագիրն արդեն իսկ նպաստում է երկու պետությունների միջև առևտրատնտեսական հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը:
ԱԱՆ-ում առավել հեռանկարային են համարում Հայաստանի հետ տնտեսական համագործակցությունը տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների և էներգետիկ ոլորտներում՝ կոնգրեսականներին ասել է ԱՄՆ Միջազգային զարգացման գործակալության ներկայացուցիչ Մարգոթ էլիսը. «Դրանք այն ոլորտներն են, որոնք կարող են ոչ միայն զարգացնել եվրաատլանտյան ինտեգրումը, այլ նաև հնարավորություն են ընձեռում ամերիկյան ընկերություններին ներգրավվել և զարգացնել Հայաստանի հետ գործընկերությունը»»,-գրում է թերթը:
