Առողջության և գեղեցկության առաջին նախադրյալը մաքրությունն է: Դժբախտաբար, երիտասարդներից շատերը մինչև սեռական հասունացումը մաքրությանը մեծ ուշադրություն չեն դարձնում:
 
Ֆիզիկական բուռն աճի և մարդու ներքին օրգանների, համակարգերի հարաճուն զարգացման շրջանում անձնական հիգիենայի պահանջներն ավելի են կարևորվում: Եթե տանը կան անձնական հիգիենայի համար նպաստավոր պայմաններ (ցնցուղ, լոգարան) ուրեմն ոչինչ չի կարող արդարացնել երիտասարդ մարդու փնթիությունը:
 
Քնից առաջ ամեն օր լողանալն անհրաժեշտ է, որպեսզի մաքրվեն օրվա ընթացքում քրտնագեղձերի և ճարպագեղձերի արտադրած արտազատուկները, որոնց մեջ կան փոշի, կեղտ, ինչպես նաև մաշկի մանրէների կենսագործունեության հետևանքով առաջացած նյութեր, որոնք տհաճ հոտ ունեն: Տաք ցնցուղը թուլացնում է օրվա ընթացքում կուտակված լարվածության զգալի մասը, նպաստում նյարդային համակարգի հանգստանալուն և խաղաղ քուն պարգևում:
 
Երբ սեռական գեղձերը սկսում են ակտիվորեն գործել, պետք է ամեն օր զբաղվել սեռական օրգանների մաքրությամբ: Դա վերաբերում է և՛ աղջիկներին, և՛ տղաներին: Լավ կլինի, ամեն օր լոգանք ընդունել ու սեռական օրգանները ամեն օր պարտադիր լվանալ, այդ թվում նաև` զուգարանից հետո, սեռական օրգանների բորբոքային հիվանդությունները կանխարգելելու նպատակով:
 
Սեռական դաստիարակության կարևոր հանգամանքներից է իր սեռի հիգիենայի մասին ժամանակին տեղեկացումը և անհրաժեշտ հիգիենիկ հմտություններին վարժեցումը: Երբ խոսքն աղջիկների մասին է, ամենակարևորը դաշտանի մասին տեղեկությունների լուսաբանումն է: Որքան էլ տարօրինակ է, դեռահասների խնդիրների ուսումնասիրությամբ զբաղվող սեքսոլոգները հաստատում են, որ աղջիկներից շատերի համար առաջին դաշտանը անակնկալ է կամ քիչ հայտնի, անծանոթ, սարսափեցնող երևույթ:
