Շատ հաճախ իգական սեռի ներկայացուցիչներին թվում է, թե տղամարդկանց դուր է գալիս շատ շպարը, նրանք դրա մեջ տեսնում են գեղեցկություն ու խնամվածություն: Սակայան, իրականում դա այդպես չէ. տղամարդիկ տանել չեն կարողանում չափից դուրս շատ շպարված աղջիկներին: Շպարով պարզապես պետք է ընդգծել, այլ ոչ թե նկարել գեղեցկությունը:
Այս եզրահանգմանն են եկել նաև Բանգորի համալսարանի գիտնականները , ովքեր խորհուրդ չեն տալիս կանանց չափից դուրս շպարվել, քանի որ դա վանում է տղամարդկանց:
Անցկացված բազմաթիվ հարցումների համաձայն` տղամարդկանց ճնշող մեծամասնությունը նախընտրում է թեթև շպարով կամ առանց շպարի կանանց: Պարզվում է, որ այս եզրակացությունը կախված է սոցիալական ցանցերում առանց դիմահարդարման լուսանկարների հանդեպ տղամարդկանց ռեակցիայի վերլուծությունից:
Գիտնականներն ավելի վաղ պարզել են, որ կանանց 80%-ը առանց շպարի հանդիպման են գնում զուգընկերոջ հետ ծանոթությունից միայն մեկ ամիս անց, 17%-ը դա անում է երկու ամիս անց, 16%-ը` կես տարի անց, 8%-ը՝ միայն մեկ տարի անց:
