Իզմիրի հայությունը 95 տարվա դադարից հետո առաջին անգամ պատարագ կանցկացնի տեղի եկեղեցիներից մեկում

Այս տարվա օգոստոսի 14-ին Իզմիրի (պատմական Զմյուռնիա - tert.am) հայությունն 95 տարվա դադարից հետո առաջին անգամ հնարավորություն կունենա եկեղեցական պատարագ անցկացնել Իզմիրում, այս մասին հայտնում է թուրքական Dihaber գործակալությունը։
Նշենք, որ Իզմիրում հայկական, ինչպես նաև հունական և այլ եկեղեցիները չեն գործել 1922թ.-ին տեղի ունեցած Իզմիրի հայտնի հրդեհից հետո։
Զմյուռնիայի հրդեհը, որը պատմության մեջ հայտնի է նաև որպես Զմյուռնիայի աղետ, տեղի է ունեցել 1922թ.-ի սեպտեմբերին:
Այն ժամանակ Թուրքիայի քեմալական կառավարության զորքերը պատերազմի ընթացքում պարտության մատնեցին Փոքր Ասիայի խորքերը թափանցած և հին հունական տարածքներն ազատագրած հունական զորքերին, իսկ 1922 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 9-ին ներխուժեցին Զմյուռնիա:
Կոտորածից խուսափելու համար հազարավոր հայեր ապաստանեցին Սուրբ Ստեփանոս եկեղեցու տարածքում։ Հրդեհի հետևանքով այրվեցին ավելի քան 50 հազար տուն, 24 եկեղեցի, 28 դպրոց, բանկեր, հյուպատոսարաններ, հիվանդանոցներ։
Նշենք, որ մինչ Առաջին համաշխարհայինն Իզմիրի բնակչության 60 տոկոսը եղել են հայեր, հույներ և հրեաներ:
