 Կալիֆորնիան ներկայացնող դեմոկրատ կոնգրեսական Բրեդ Շերմանը շարունակում է աջակցել ԱՄՆ-ի և Հայաստանի միջև կրկնակի հարկման մասին պայմանագրի մշակմանը, որով նման հարկումը պետք է բացառվի: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս հարցը դարձել է դեմոկրատ կոնգրեսականի և ԱՄՆ Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի ներկայացուցիչների քննարկման հիմնական առարկան Ներկայացուցիչների պալատում կայացած հանդիպման ժամանակ: Հանձնախմբի ներկայացուցիչները շեշտել են, որ կրկնակի հարկման բացառումը կնպաստի աշխատատեղերի ստեղծմանը և առևտրի ու ներդրումների միջոցով աղքատության նվազմանը:

Քննարկման ընթացքում անդրադարձ է կատարվել այն հիմնական քայլերին, որոնք անհրաժեշտ է նախաձեռնել նշված պայմանագրի շուրջ բանակցությունների մեկնարկն ապահովելու համար, ինչպես նաև խոսվել է հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների ավելի լայն օրակարգի հարցերի շուրջ: Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի ներկայացուցիչները շնորհակալություն են հայտնել կոնգրեսական Շերմանին հայ-ամերիկյան տնտեսական հարաբերությունների զարգացման գործում իր ներդրած ավանդի համար, ինչի նպատակով Կալիֆորնիան ներկայացնող կոնգրեսականը մշտապես աշխատել է ԱՄՆ ֆինանսների նախարարության և Հայաստանի կառավարության հետ:

«Ոգեշնչված եմ այն փաստով, որ կոնգրեսական Շերմանը, ով ինքն էլ ֆինանսական հարցերով փաստաբան է, կառաջնորդի այն բանակցությունները, որոնց արդյունքում կարող ենք հասնել ԱՄՆ-ի և Հայաստանի միջև կրկնակի հարկման բացառմանը»,- նշել է Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի խորհրդի անդամ Աիդա Դիմեջյանը:
