 Գերագույն իսլամական հանձնաժողովի ղեկավար և Երուսաղեմի նախկին մուֆթի (մուսուլմանների հոգևոր առաջնորդ) Իքրեմա Սաբրին մուսուլմաններին կոչ է արել չայցելել Տաճարի լեռ այնքան ժամանակ, մինչև Իսրայելի իշխանությունները կրոնական կառույցի մուտքից չհեռացնեն հսկիչ տեսախցիկները: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այն մասին հայտնում է Interfax-ը՝ հղում կատարելով Associated Press-ին:

Սաբրին հայտարարել է, որ Տաճարի լեռան մուտքի մետաղորսիչների ապամոնտաժումը բավական չէ և պահանջել է հեռացնել տեսախցիկները: Սրա հետ մեկտեղ, նշել է, որ մուսուլմանները Տաճարի լեռան մոտակայքում կշարունակեն զանգվածային աղոթքներ կազմակերպել և Երուսաղեմում ցույցեր անցկացնել այնքան ժամանակ, մինչև Իսրայելը չբավարարի այդ պահանջը:

Նախօրեին Իսրայելը հեռացրել էր մետաղորսիչները, սակայն պնդում է, որ անվտանգության պահպանման համար պետք է տեսախցիկները թողնել:

Իրավիճակը Երուսաղեմում կտրուկ սրվել էր հուլիսի 14-ից հետո, երբ երեք զինված պաղեստինցիներ Տաճարի լեռան վրա սպանել էին երկու իսրայելցի զինծառայողի: Դրանից հետո հրեական պետության իշխանությունները Ալ-Աքսա մզկիթի շրջանում գործի էին դրել անվտանգության լրացուցիչ միջոցներ, ինչպես նաև կառույցի մուտքի մոտ մետաղական դետեկտորներ էին տեղադրել:

Սրան հաջորդել էին պաղեստինցիների և իսրայելական ոստիկանների միջև մարդկային կորուստների հանգեցնող բախումներ: Իրենց տան մեջ սպանվել էին նաև երեք իսրայելցիներ:
