Անանուխը հնուց հայտնի է մարդկությանը: Ավիցեննան դեղաբույսն օգտագործել է գլխացավերի, տեսողության թուլության, ականջների խշշոցի, քթային արյունահոսության, բերանի լորձաթաղանթի բորբոքումների դեպքերում:

Մխիթար Հերացին բույսն օգտագործել է որպես ցավազրկող, թարմացնող միջոց սրտխառնոցի, փսխման ու լուծերի դեպքում: Ամիրդովլաթը նշում է, որ անանուխը կամ նանան օգնում է գլխացավին, բերանից վանում է սխտորի, սոխի հոտը, տաքացնում է ստամոքսը, կտրում է սրտխառնոցը, բուժում մաշկի դեղնությունը, սպանում է ճիճուներին, կարգավորում է մարսողության խանգարման երևույթները, դադարեցնում է արյունահոսությունը, օգնում շան կծածին, կարիճի ու մեղվի խայթածին:

Անանուխի յուղից ստացվող մենթոլը օգտագործվում է ստենոկարդիայի դեպքում, այն մտնում է այնպիսի դեղամիջոցների բաղադրության մեջ, ինչպիսիք են վալիդոլը, վալոկարդինը, ինգաֆենը, օլիմետինը և այլն:

Անանուխի կաթիլներն ու եփուկը լոգանքի ձևով օգտագործում են երեխաների ռախիտի, գեղձախտի, աղեստամոքսային    տրակտի աշխատանքի խանգարումների ժամանակ: Տերևների թրջոցն օգտագործում են ռևմատիկ հոդացավերի ժամանակ:
Ինչպես ավանդական, այնպես էլ ժողովրդական բժշկության մեջ անանուխն օգտագործում են մրսածության, կոկորդի հիվանդությունների, սրտխառնոցի, նյարդային խանգարումների, գլխացավերի, դեպրեսիայի, անքնության, երիկամների քարերի, ինչպես նաև ասթմայի, ստամոքսի խոցի, աթերոսկլերոզի, սիրտ-անոթային ու մարսողական համակարգերի հիվանդությունների դեպքում:

Անանուխի թուրմ պատրաստելու համար 2 ճաշի գդալ մանրացրած անանուխի տերևների վրա լցնել 1 բաժակ եռացրած ջուր, 30 րոպե թրմել: Քամել և օրվա ընթացքում գոլ վիճակում քիչ-քիչ խմել: Այս թուրմը կարելի Է օգտագործել կոկորդը և բերանի խոռոչը ողողելու, ինչպես նաև մաշկի քորը հանգստացնելու նպատակով:

Լոգանքների կամ հոգնայի նպատակով եփուկ պատրաստելու համար վերցնել 50 գ հումք և եռացնել 1 դույլ ջրում:

Տերևների փոշուց մի պտղունց կարելի Է լցնել լեզվի վրա և վրայից գոլ ջուր խմել: Այս միջոցը շատ լավ օգնում է աղեստամոքսային տրակտի ցավերի ու բերանի վատ հոտի դեպքում:

Անանուխի հյութը կարտոֆիլի հյութի հետ հիանալի միջոց Է ստամոքսի բարձր թթվայնության հետևանքով առաջացած այրոցի դեմ: Իսկ ահա անանուխի սպիրտային լուծույթի 20 կաթիլը եթե լուծեք 1 բաժակ սառը ջրի մեջ ու խմեք առավոտյան, լավ կթեթևանաք նախորդ օրվա գինարբուքից հետո:
Անանուխը ցրտադիմացկուն է, խոնավասեր ու պահանջկոտ լույսի նկատմամբ, իսկ շոգ եղանակին աճը խիստ դանդաղում Է: Ծաղկում է հիմնականում հուլիս-օգոստոս ամիսներին:    Բուժման    նպատակով հիմնականում օգտագործում են բույսի տերևները: Հումքը հավաքում են ծաղկման սեզոնին, մի քանի ժամ թողնում արևի տակ, հետո լրիվ չորացնում քամոտ վայրում, այսինքն՝ համեմատաբար հով տեղում, կտորե տոպրակի, փայտե արկղիկի կամ ապակե տարայի մեջ:
