Իսրայելի ոստիկանությունը կիրակի լույս գիշերը նոր բարձր տեխնոլոգիական տեսահսկման տեսախցիկներ է տեղադրել Երուսաղեմում՝ Տաճարի լեռան մուտքի մոտ: Այդ մասին կիրակի հայտնել է The Times of Israel-ը:


Լրատվամիջոցի տեղեկություններով՝ անվտանգության ուժերն այժմ կկարողանան հետևել այցելուներին, որոնք կշարժվեն «անվտանգության ցանկապատված գոտիներով»: Նոր տեսահսկման համակարգը թույլ կտա նույնականացնել մարդկանց, ում մոտ կարող է լինել զենք՝ առանց մետաղական դետեկտորների օգտագործման: Կասկածելի անձանց ոստիկանությունը ստուգելու է ձեռքի մետաղական դետեկտորներով:


Այնուամենայնիվ, ինչպես նշում է լրատվամիջոցը, անցած շաբաթ տեղադրված մետաղական դետեկտորները շարունակում են աշխատել:


Հիշեցնենք, որ Երուսաղեմում և Արևմտյան ափին իրավիճակը լարվել է հուլիսի 14-ին Տաճարի լեռան տարածքից երեք իսրայելաբնակ արաբների հարձակումից հետո, որի հետևանքով երկու իսրայելցի ոստիկան էր զոհվել: Հարձակումից հետո իսրայելական իշխանությունները մետաղական դետեկտորներ են տեղադրել Երուսաղեմի հին քաղաքի ամենակարևոր կրոնական սրբավայրերից մեկի՝ Տաճարի լեռան վրա: 


Արաբները զանգվածային աղոթքներ են կազմակերպել Երուսաղեմի փողոցներում՝ հրաժարվելով Տաճարի լեռան մզկիթների մոտ բարձրանալ անվտանգության նկատառումներով տեղադրված մետաղական դետեկտորների միջով, և որոշ հատվածներում բախումներ են սկսվել Իսրայելի ոստիկանության հետ: 


Առնվազն չորս պաղեստինցի է սպանվել, ավելի քան հարյուրը վիրավորվել է իսրայելական ուժերի և պաղեստինցիների միջև տեղի ունեցած բախումների հետևանքով: Իսրայելի երեք քաղաքացի է սպանվել Արևմտյան ափի Հալամիշ բնակավայրում պաղեստինցու կողմից իրականացված հարձակման հետևանքով, ով խոստովանել է, որ դա արել է Տաճարի լեռան շուրջ ստեղծված իրադարձություններից դրդված: 

Ուրբաթ մետաղական դետեկտորների տեղադրման դեմ ցույցեր են կազմակերպվել նաև Գազայում, որտեղ մի քանի մարդ է վիրավորվել Իսրայելի կողմից արձակված կրակի հետևանքով:
