Հայաստանի մինչև 20 տարեկանների հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Վիգեն Էսկիջյանը Ադրբեջանի նկատմամբ 82։80 հաշվով տարած հաղթանակից հետո մեկնաբանություն տվեց ՀԲՖ մամուլի քարտուղարությանը․

 

«Խաղից առաջ ահռելի լարվածություն կար թիմում։ Տղաները գիտակցում էին, որ Ադրբեջանի դեմ խաղի նկատմամբ շատ մեծ հետաքրքրություն կա և պետք է անպայման հաղթենք։

 

Որքան էլ փորձել էինք լարվածությունը հանել, բայց չէր ստացվել, քանի որ բոլորն այս խաղի մասին էին խոսում, անընդհատ զանգեր էինք ստանում տարբեր տեղերից։ Խաղի մասին բարդ է խոսելը, քանի որ այսօր խաղադաշտում տեսանք պայքար եւ միայն պայքար։

 

Խաղասկզբում մենք լավ առավելություն ստացանք եւ կարող էինք ընդմիջման գնալ զգալի տարբերությամբ, սակայն անհասկանալի խախտումներ ստացավ մեր միակ կենտրոնականը՝ Սթիվեն Էնոչը, որին ստիպված էինք փոխարինել։ Էնոչի փոխարինումը թույլ տվեց մրցակցին հավասարվել մեզ։

 

Ընդհանրապես, մրցավարության վերաբերյալ մի շարք հարցեր առաջացան։ Այնպիսի տպավորություն էր, որ ցանկանում են Էնոչին հեռացնել խաղից։

 

Փաստորեն, մենք խաղի գրեթե կեսը խաղացինք առանց մեր կենտրոնականի․․․ Շատ ուրախ եմ, որ չնայած այս բարդություններին, մենք ի վերջո հաղթեցինք և ուրախություն պարգեւեցինք հայ ժողովրդին։ Մենք միասնական էինք և դրա համար էլ հաղթեցինք։ Շնորհակալ եմ տղաներին, ովքեր ջանք չխնայեցին հաղթանակի համար։ Այսքանով առաջնությունը չի ավարտվել մեզ համար։ Հուլիսի 23-ին խաղալու ենք 17-րդ տեղի համար եւ ավարտելու ենք մեր ելույթները։ Մրցելու ենք Իռլանդիա-Մալթա զույգի հաղթողի հետ։ Ցանկանում ենք հաղթանակով ավարտել մեր ելույթները»:
