Էր Ռիադի ոստիկանությունը ձերբակալել է Սաուդյան Արաբիայի թագավորական ընտանիքի անդամին՝ տեղի բնակիչների հանդեպ նրա վիրավորական ու դաժան պահվածքի համար՝ այդ թվում ֆիզիկական ուժի կիրառման։ Arab News-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ ձերբակալումը տեղի է ունեցել սաուդյան միապետ Սալման բեն Աբդել Ազիզ Ալ Սաուդի կարգադրությամբ։

Պարբերականի տվյալներով այդ որոշումը հաջորդել է համացանցում տեսահոլովակի հրապարակմանը, որտեղ ենթադրաբար արքայազնն ու եւս մի քանի մարդ ագրեսիվ գործողություններ են իրականացնում։

Սաուդյան Արաբիայի թագավորը կարգադրել է անհապաղ ձերբակալել արքայազն Սաուդ բեն Աբդել Ազիզ բեն Մուսաիդ բեն Սաուդ բեն Աբդել Ազիզ ԱԼ Սաուդին ու ազատազրկել բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր մասնակցություն են ունեցել այդ վիրավորական վարքագծին։ Բացի դրանից, կարգադրության համաձայն, մեղադրյալներից ոչ մեկին ազատ չեն արձակելու մինչեւ դատավճիռ։

Անցած տարվա հոկտեմբերին հայտնել էին, որ Սաուդյան Արաբիայում 40 տարվա մեջ առաջին անգամ մահապատժի են ենթարկել արքայազնի։ Արքայազն Թուրքի բեն Սաուդ բեն Թուրքի բեն Սաուդ ալ Քաբիրը մեղավոր էր ճանաչվել 2012-ին իր ընկերոջը՝ Ադել ալ Մուհիմիդին ծեծկռտուքի ժամանակ սպանելու մեջ։ Թուրքին ծեծկռտուքի ժամանակ հանել էր ատրճանակն ու կրակել ։Փամփուշտը դիպել էր նրա ընկերոջը, որը մահացել էր հիվանդանոցի ճանապարհին։ Դատավճիռը հրապարակվել էր երկու տարի անց, գերագույն ատյանների դատարանները մահապատիժն ուժի մեջ էին թողել։
