Տղամարդիկ չեն հավանում խելացի կանանց, եթե նրանք գեղեցիկ չեն

Հետազոտողները պնդում են, որ տղամարդիկ իրենց համար զուգընկեր ընտրելիս չեն նախընտրում խելացի կանանց: Միակ դեպքը, որ նրանք կընտրեն խելացի կնոջ, կլինի այն ժամանակ, եթե կինը բացի խելացի լինելը նաև գեղեցիկ լինի: Ուրեմն պարզվում է, որ դերասան Ջորջ Քլունին այս օրենքի մեջ բացառություն է, քանի որ նա ամուսնացել է բրիտանացի իրավաբան Ամալի հետ, ով և՛ անչափ գեղեցիկ է, և՛ խելացի:
Վարշավայի տնտեսագիտության դպրոցի գիտնականները ուսումնասիրել են 4000 ժամադրությունների արդյունքները, որոնց ժամանակ մոտ 560 մարդ 4 րոպերում պետք է ծանոթանային և ճանաչեին իրենց պոտենցիալ զուգընկերներին:
Մասնակիցները, որոնք բոլորը Նյու Յորքի Կոլումբիայի համալսարանի ուսանողներ էին, գնահատեցին միմյանց գրավչությունը և ինտելեկտը:
Կանանց ավելի դուր էին եկել այն տղամարդիկ, ովքեր կա՛մ գեղեցիկ էին, կա՛մ խելացի: Սակայն տղամարդկանց մոտ ամեն ինչ շատ ավելի բարդ էր:
Տղամարդկանց համար առաջին տեղում արտաքին տեսքն էր, իսկ համեմատաբար ավելի խելացի լինելը օգնում էր, որ գեղեցիկ կանայք առանձնանային ամբոխից:
Այնուամենայնիվ, հետազոտողները պարզեցին, որ ժամադրվող տղամարդիկ հատուկ սահման են գծում, և ըստ դրա ավելի լավ է այդ գծին չհասնել, քան թե դա գերազանցել: Այլ կերպ ասած՝ ինչքան կինը խելացի է, այնքան ավելի գեղեցիկ նա պետք է լինի, որպեսզի նրան տղամարդիկ հավանեն:
Personality and Individual Differences հանդեսում ասվում է. «Զուգընկերներ փնտրելիս կանայք չեն բացառում ոչ գրավիչ տղամարդկանց: Նույնիսկ կանանց կողմից ոչ գրավիչ համարվող տղամարդիկ կարող են դրական արձագանքներ ստանալ ժամադրության ժամանակ, եթե նրանք խելացի լինեն և բարձր ինտելեկտ ունենան: Իսկ տղամարդիկ շատ հստակ տարբերություն են դնում իրենց զուգընկերների ընտրության ժամանակ: Ըստ տղամարդկանց՝ կնոջ ինտելեկտը ընկալվում է որպես բացասական կողմ: Ուստի՝ կանանց ինտելեկտը պետք է կոմպենսացվի նրանց արտաքին գեղեցկությամբ, որպեսզի նրանք մեծ հավանականություն ունենան տղամարդկանց կողմից ընտերվելու:»
Հարաբերությունների մասնագետ Պաուլին Բրաունն ասում է. «Այս ուսումնասիրությունը համապատասխանում է այն ամենին, ինչը ես տեսնում եմ. խելացի կանայք, ովքեր ավարտում են համալսարանը, կարծում են, որ պետք է իրենց հիմար ձևացնեն, որպեսզի թաքցնեն իրենց ինտելեկտը և դուր գան տղամարդկանց:» Գլասգոյի մի խորհրդատու ավելացնում է. «Խելացի կինը կարող է տղամարդու մոտ անապահովության զգացում առաջացնել. տղամարդը, շատ հնարավոր է, որ սկսի կասկածել, թե արդյոք նա կարող է կնոջը միշտ հետաքրքրել, ընդլայնել նրա մտահորիզոնը, արդարացնել նրա սպասելիքները և բնական հետաքրքրասիրությունը:»
