Քրդական հակաահաբեկչական ուժերի բարձրաստիճան ներկայացուցիչ Լահուր Թալաբանին հայտարարել Է, որ «Իսլամական պետության» պարագլուխ Աբու Բաքր ալ Բաղդադին, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, ողջ Է եւ գտնվում Է Ռաքա քաղաքից հարավ, հաղորդել Է Reuters գործակալությունը: Թալաբանին գործակալությանը հայարարել Է, որ դրանում վստահ Է 99 տոկոսով, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:

Ավելի վաղ այն մասին, թե ալ Բաղդադին թաքնվում Է Ռաքայի արվարձանում, հայտարարել Է Իրաքի տեղեկատվության եւ ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարի վարչության ղեկավար Աբու Ալի ալ Բասրին: Այդ քաղաքը մինչ օրս մասնակիորեն գտնվում Է զինյալների վերահսկողության ներքո:

Հուլիսի 11-ին Իրաքի «Սումարիա նյուզ» նորությունների պորտալը հաղորդել Էր, որ ԻՊ-ի աղբյուրը խոստովանել Է ալ Բաղդադիի մահը: Խմբավորման հայտարարության մեջ ասված Էր, որ մոտ ժամանակներս կհայտարարվի նրա հաջորդի անունը: Պարագլխի մահվան մասին ոչ մի կարգի մանրամանություններ խմբավորումը չԷր բերել:

Ավելի վաղ ՌԴ-ի պաշտպանության նախարարությունում հայտարարել են, թե ալ Բաղդադին կարող Է ոչնչացված լինել մայիսի 28-ին Ռաքայի հարավային արվարձանում Ռուսաստանի օդա-տիեզերական ուժերի հարվածի հետեւանքով:

Ալ Բաղդադին, իսկական անունը՝ Իբրահիմ Ավադ Իբրահիմ ալ Բադրի, առաջին անգամ հանրության առջեւ Է հայտնվել 2014 թվականի հուլիսին, երբ նվաճված Մոսուլ քաղաքի մզկիթից հռչակեց Մերձավոր Արեւելքում «իսլամական խալիֆաթի» ստեղծման մասին: Այդ ժամանակվանից ի վեր զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցները մեկ անգամ չԷ, որ տեղեկատվություն են հրապարակել նրա վերացման մասին, բայց այն հաստատում չի գտել, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
