Կորեայի Հանրապետությունը ԿԺԴՀ-ին առաջարկել Է հուլիսի 21-ին Փանմունջոմ սահմանիային կետում բանակցություններ վարել պաշտպանական գերատեսչությունների ներկայացուցիչների մասնակցությամբ՝ Կորեական թերակղզում լարվածության նվազեցման ուղիների քննարկման նպատակով: Հուլիսի 17-ին այս մասին հաղորդել Է Yonhap գործակալությունը: Նաեւ հարավկորեական կողմը հանդես Է եկել օգոստոսի 1-ին Կարմիր խաչի գծով կոնսուլտացիաներ կազմակերպել այդ նույն վայրում: Վերջին անգամ Սեուլը եւ Փենյանը միջկառավարական բանակցություններ են վարել 2015 թվականի վերջին: Ավելի վաղ նշվել Է, որ այդ պլանի մշակմանը միավորման նախարարության, մի քանի գերատեսչությունների եւ զինվորականների ներկայացուցիչները ձեռնամուխ են եղել այն բանից հետո, երբ ԿԺԴՀ-ն, Սեուլի կարծիքով, դրականորեն Է արձագանքել Կորեայի Հանրապետության նախագահ Մուն Չժե Ինի ելույթին:

Հուլիսի 6-ին Բեռլինում նա հանդես Է եկել սահմանի մոտ ռազմական գործողությունների փոխադարձ դադարեցման առաջարկությամբ՝ Զինադադարի շուրջը համաձայնագրի հերթական տարերձի առթիվ, որն ստորագրվել Է 1953 թվականի հուլիսի 27-ին: Այդ ժամանակ Էլ Հարավային Կորեայի ղեկավարն առաջարկել Է անցկացնել բաժանված ընտանքների հանդիպումներ:

Դրա հետ մեկտեղ Մուն Չժե Ինը բազմիցս նշել Է ԿԺԴՀ-ի հետ հարաբերությունների կարգավորման եւ շփումների վերականգնման անհրաժեշտությունը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
