Ես քիչ եմ սերիալներ նայում, բայց Բեն Աֆֆլեկի և Մեթ Դեյմոնի՝ «Փող և իշխանություն» ֆանտաստիկ սերիալն անհնար էր արհամարհել: Հատկապես Մեծ քսանյակի գագաթնաժողովի ֆոնին՝ այս սերիալը կատարյալ անտիուտոպիստական մտասևեռում դարձավ ինձ համար: Ի վերջո, պրոդյուսերներն այստեղ արդեն 2074 թվական թևակոխած մեր մոլորակն էին պատկերում, որ վերահսկվում էր սոսկ մի քանի մասնավոր կորպորացիաների կողմից ու նրանց անսահմանափակ հնարավորությունների տիրույթում, և որտեղ մնացած սովյալներին ու կենդանիների նմանված արարածներին սոսկ գետտոներ էին բաժին հասնում: Այս երջանիկ մի տոկոսը, որ, փաստորեն գրավել էր ողջ մոլորակը, նույնիսկ սեփական բանակ ուներ և ցանկացած միտք անգամ, որ խղճուկ կարմիր թաղամասերում կարող էր ծնվել կյանքի որակական փոփոխության վերաբերյալ, երջանիկների կանաչ թաղամասերն ի վիճակի էին անմիջապես ճնշել:
 
Եվ ահա, հատկապես համբուրգյան բողոքի ցույցերից հետո, մտածում եմ՝ իսկ գուցե սերիալում նկարագրվող աշխարհն ուտոպիա՞ չէ: Գուցե այն պատկերը, որ ծայրահեղության է հասցված, արդեն գոյությո՞ւն ունի տենդենցի տեսքով: Ի վերջո, Oxfam–ի զեկույցը, թե մենք ապրում ենք մի աշխարհում, որտեղ 7 տրիլիոն դոլար ունեցող 1800 միլիարդատերեր կան, հենց այս մի տոկոսով երջանիկ աշխարհի մասին է վկայում: Գուցե նաև՝ դրանից էլ քիչ երջանիկներ կան այստեղ, որովհետև 1800–ից 8–ը ճիշտ այնքան հարստություն ունի, որքան աշխարհի բնակչության թշվառ կեսը՝ 3 մլրդ 600 միլիոնը, որոնցից 10–ից մեկի օրական եկամուտը 2 դոլարից պակաս է, իսկ 800 միլիոնն ամեն գիշեր քաղցած է պառկում քնելու:
 
Ընդ որում, սա արդեն ոչ թե առանձին մարդկանց, այլ պետությունների խնդիր է, եթե մոլորակի ընդամենը ութ հոգին շատ ավելի հարուստ են, քան նույնիսկ տասնյակ պետություններ միասին վերցրած: Եվ թվերն էլ սովորական հարստության մասին չեն վկայում: Այսինքն, մի բանի հետ գործ չունենք, որի առնչությամբ կասես՝ միշտ էլ այդպես է եղել: Սա բացարձակապես նոր տենդենց է, և այս պահին արդեն անհնար է չհարցնել՝ իսկ այս փոքրիկ համայնքը որևէ կերպ կառավարելի՞ է պետությունների համար, թե՝ ինքն է պայմաններ թելադրում կառավարություններին: Եվ ընդհանրապես՝ այս պայմաններում ի՞նչ ասել է ազատ ժողովրդավարություն, ազատ շուկա, եթե խոշոր կորպորացիաները, ինչպես ԱՄՆ նախագահ Թեոդոր Ռուզվելտն էր նշում՝ այլևս պետության երեխաները չեն, և պետությունները գուցե պարտավորված են միայն նրանց զարգացման անիվը պտտել համաշխարհային օրակարգերում:
 
Նման մտքեր ունեցողներին մեղադրել, թե հարգանքի տուրք են տալիս վերջին տարիներին մոդայիկ դարձած դավադրության տեսություններին, կարծում եմ, հաստատ խելամիտ չէ: Նոր աշխարհն այլևս իրողություն է, որում ապրելը, հնարավոր է, ինչ–որ պահի ընդհանրապես աղետալի դառնա, և սա՛, ոչ թե Թրամփի իմփիչմենթը կամ Պուտինի չեկիստական դեմքը պիտի մտահոգի աշխարհի բնակչությանը…
