Ճապոնիայում իրագործել են երկու մարդու մահապատժի դատավճիռը

Ճապոնիայում երկու հանցագործի նկատմամբ 2016 թվականից այս կողմ առաջին անգամ մահապատիժ են կիրառել: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ն:
Կախաղան բարձրացվածները 61-ամյա Մասակաձու Նիսիկավան է և 34-ամյա Կոիտի Սումիդան: Առաջինը 26 տարի առաջ սպանել էր 4 կնոջ և 2005 թվականին դատապարտվել մահապատժի: Իսկ երկրորդը սպանել ու անդամահատել էր գործընկերոջը: Նրան մահապատժի էին դատապարտել 2013 թվականին:
Վերջին անգամ Ճապոնիայում մահապատիժը կիրառվել էր 2016 թվականի նոյեմբերին: Ներկայում երկրում մահապատժի է սպասում 130 մարդ: Որպես կանոն, դրանք իրականացվում են վճռի հրապարակումից ոչ անմիջապես հետո, այլ միայն մի քանի տարի անց:
Միջազգային իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպությունները բազմիցս կոչ են արել ճապոնիային դադարեցնել պատժի նման անմարդասիրական ձևը: Դատապարտյալը կարող է իր մահապատժին սպասել տարիներով և իմանալ դրա մասին միայն վճռի կատարման առավոտը: Եղել են դեպքեր, երբ մահապատժի դատապարտվածը բանտում ծերությունից մահացել է:
Ճապոնիայում մահապատիժն իրականացվում է կախաղանի միջոցով: Հասարակական հարցումները ցույց են տվել, որ երկրի բնակչության 85 տոկոսը կողմ է մահապատժի պահպանմանը:
