Մարդն իր կյանքի ընթացքում սիրահարվում և բաժանվում է: Հոգեբանները գտնում են, որ իրականում մարդը կարող է սիրել երեք անգամ. և դրանցից յուրաքանչյուրն իրենով կարևոր է և պարտադիր մարդու կյանքում:
Հեքիաթային սեր
Շատ հաճախ առաջին սերը գալիս է այն ժամանակ, երբ շատ երիտասարդ ենք: Այն թվում է հենց այնպիսին, ինչպիսին գրքերում է: Մարդն իդեալականացնում է սիրելիին, և մտածում, որ այդ սերն ամբողջ կյանքի համար է:
Այդ ժամանակ մարդը չի նկատում ոչ մի մանրուք և առաջնորդվում է որոշակի սկզբունքներով, որովհետև սրտի խորքում մտածում է, որ դա է ճիշտը:
Այն, թե ինչ են տեսնում շրջապատում, մարդու համար դառնում է ամենակարևորը:
Այսպիսի սերը սովորեցնում է, որ կարևոր է ոչ թե նայել և լսել շրջապատի կարծիքը, այլ որ ամենակարևորն է՝ մեկմեկու:
Դժվար սեր
Երկրորդ սերը, որ լինում է մարդու կյանում համարվում է դժվար սեր: Մարդը կարծում է, որ նախորդ չստացված սիրուց ստանցել է անհարժեշտ դասը, և դրա հիման վրա արդեն ընտրել է այն մարդուն, ով իսկապես պետք է նրան: Այս դեպում հնարավոր է ստել, նեղացնել, վիրավորել, իսկ սիրահարված մարդն ուղղակի ջանքեր է գործադրում իրավիճակը հարթելու և հարաբերությունները կարգավորելու համար:
Այս սերը սովորեցնում է՝ կարևոր է, երբ մարդուն փոխադարձ սիրեն: 
Հասուն սեր
Երրորդն արդեն այն սերն է, որին մարդը չի սպասում: Այն հայտնվում է մարդու կյանքում շատ պատահական ու միանգամից՝ անկախ մարդու կամքից և սպասելիքնեից: Այն ամենևին էլ իդեալական չի երևում, սակայն դա անբացատրելի կապ է, որն ուղղակի բացատրել հնարավոր չէ:
Այս դեպքում արդեն մարդը ծրագրեր չի կազմում և չի ցանկանում իդեալականացնել իր սիրելիին, այլ ընդունում է նրան այնպիսին, ինչպիսին՝ կա:
Եվ, ամենակարևորը, այս հարաբերությունները երկկողմանի են:
