G20-ի գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ ԱՄՆ նախագահի դստեր՝ Իվանկա Թրամփի ներկայությունը բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ «խելամիտ» էր, քանի որ խոսքն Իվանկայի եւ Համաշխարհային բանկի նախաձեռնած ծրագրի մասին էր: Այս մասին գրում է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
«Նա տեղ գրավեց առավոտյան նիստից հետո: Խոսքը ձեռներեց կանանց օգնության հիմնադրամի ստեղծման ծրագրի մասին էր, որը նախաձեռնել են Իվանկան եւ Համաշխարհային բանկը: Այդ պատճառով նրա ներկայությունը բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ միանգամայն խելամիտ էր»,- բրիտանական խորհրդարանի Համայնքների պալատում ունեցած ելույթում ասել է Մեյը:
G20-ի գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ Դոնալդ Թրամփի ավագ դստեր՝ բանակցություններին մասնակցելու հանգամանքը վրդովմունքի ալիք էր բարձրացրել միջազգային լրատվամիջոցներում:
Ավելի վաղ ի պաշտպանություն Իվանկա Թրամփի հանդես էր եկել Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը՝ հայտարարելով, որ նա ամերիկյան պատվիրակության անդամ էր եւ լիարժեք իրավունք ուներ հոր տեղը զբաղեցնել G20-ի երկրների առաջնորդների բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ:
