ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականը ցանկանում է հասնել Թուրքիային կործանիչներ մատակարարելու արգելքին

ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի մի շարք անդամներ առաջարկել են փոփոխություններ կատարել գալիք շաբաթ քննարկվելիք 2018 թվականի պաշտպանության իրավազորության օրենքում և արգելափակել Թուրքիային ամերիկյան արտադրության զենքերի (ատրճանակներից մինչև կործանիչներ) վաճառքը, ինչը կապված է մայիսի 16-ին Վաշինգտոնում Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի թիկնազորի կողմից խաղաղ ցուցարարների վրա դաժան հարձակման միջադեպի հետ:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, վկայակոչելով DefenseNews-ը, նման առաջարկով հանդես է եկել Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հարցերով հանձնաժողովի անդամ Դևիդ Սիսիլինը, որը նաև Կոնգրեսի հայկական հարցերով հանձնախմբի անդամ է: Նա ձգտում է արգելափակել F-35 կործանիչների մատակարարումը Թուրքիային: Այս հարցում նրան աջակցություն են հայտնել մի շարք գործընկերներ:
Ավելի վաղ Դեյվ Թրոթը, Ֆրենք Փալոունը, Ադամ Շիֆը, Էլիոթ Էնգելն, Դևին Նունեսը ու մի շարք այլ բարձրաստիճան կոնգրեսականներ կոչ էին արել Պետքարտուղարությանը հրաժարվել Թուրքիայի նախագահի թիկնազորին 1.2 մլն դոլարի ամերիկյան կիսաավտոմատ ատրճանակներ վաճառելու մտքից: Նախաձեռնությունը պաշտպանել են նաև Մերիլենդից ու Նյու-Հեմփշիրից սենատորներ Բեն Կարդինը և Ժաննա Շահինը:
Վաշինգտոնի ոստիկանությունը հայտնել է 18 անձանց մասին, որոնց մեղադրանքներ են առաջադրվել մայիսի 16-ինՎաշինգտոնում Թուրքիայի դեսպանի նստավայրի մոտ խաղաղ ցուցարարների վրա հարձակվելու համար: Նրանց թվում 9-ըանվտանգության աշխատակիցներ են և 3-ը` թուրք ոստիկաններ:
Միացյալ Նահանգներ այցելող Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի դեմ մայրաքաղաք Վաշինգտոնումկազմակերպված խաղաղ ցույցի մասնակիցները մի խումբ թուրք ազգայնամոլների կատաղի հարձակման թիրախ ենդարձել: Մի քանի վիրավորներ արնաշաղախ հիվանդանոց են տեղափոխվել: Հայտնի է դարձել, որ հարձակումն իրականացրել են Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցները: Ավելի ուշ հայտնվածտեսանյութում երևում է, թե ինչպես է հենց Էրդողանը տալիս ցուցարարների վրա հարձակվելու հրահանգը:
Ցույցը կազմակերպվել էր Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբի, Ամերիկայի Հելենական խորհրդի եւ մի շարք այլ՝ քրդական, ասորական եւ հունական կազմակերպությունների կողմից:
Կատարվածը դատապարտել էր ԱՄՆ պետդեպը, պետքարտուղար Թիլերսոնը՝ անընդունելի համարելով թուրքական հաշվեհարդարը Վաշինգտոնի կենտրոնում, Վաշինգտոնի քաղաքապետը և մի խումբկոնգրեսականներ:
