Բաքվում բանտարկված Մարատ Ուելդանով-Գալուստյանի քույրը հույս ունի, որ, վերջապես, Ռուսաստանը բացել է իր աչքերը: Tert.am-ի հետ զրույցում նա նշեց, որ վերջապես Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունը նկատել է, որ Ադրբեջանը նվաստացնում է Ռուսաստանի, հատկապես հայկական արմատներ ունեցող քաղաքացիներին:
Նա պատմեց, որ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության արտաքին գործերի նախարարության հաղորդագրությունում, ըստ Մարիանա Միրզոյանի, նշված է, որ շարունակում են պահանջել դադարեցնել աղաղակող խտրականության պրակտիկային: ՌԴ ԱԳՆ-ը նշել է նաև, որ ստեղծված իրավիճակից իրենք հետևություններ անելու են:
Մարատ Ուելդանովի քույրը՝ Մարիանա Միրզոյանի խոսքով՝ հիմա սպասում են միայն վերաքննիչ դատարանի, սակայն իրենք էլ չգիտեն, թե երբ է այն կայանալու:
Հիշեցնենք, որ Մարատ Ուելդանով-Գալուստյանին նախորդ տարի հունիսի 9-ից ձերբակալել և անազատության մեջ էր պահում Բաքվում՝ թմրանյութերի, հոգեմետ միջոցների անօրինական պատրաստման, արտադրության, ձեռքբերման, իրացման, պահման և տարածման մեղադրանքներով: Սակայն նրա մտերիմներն ու գործընկերները ժխտում էին ադրբեջանական վարկածը՝ համարելով, որ մեղադրանքներն անհիմն են: Ավելին՝ պատմում էին, որ հարցաքննության ժամանակ Մարատ Ուելդանովին նրա ազգության մասին էին հարցնում:
Մարատ Ուելդանովը Ադրբեջանում մեկ տարուց ավելի աշխատել էր ավստրիական «Do&Co» ընկերությունում, որը զբաղվում էր հյուրանոցային բիզնեսով: Քանի որ նրա անձնագրում նշված էր ոչ թե իր հայկական ազգանունը, այլ՝ կնոջ, Բաքվում երբեք չէր հայտնվել ուշադրության կենտրոնում: Մարատը 1990-ականներից Ռուսաստան էր տեղափոխվել Բաքվից՝ իր ընտանիքի հետ:
2016թ. ապրիլի 28-ին Բաքվում ավարտվել է Մարատ Ուելդանով-Գալուստյանի գործի քննությունը: Փակ դատավարությունն անցկացվել էր դատավոր Սամիր Ալիևի նախագահությամբ: Ազգությամբ հայ ՌԴ քաղաքացին դատապարտվել է 8 տարվա ազատազրկման:
