Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը է Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ հեռախոսազրույցի ընթացքում խոսել է Վաշինգտոնում իր թիկնազորի սկսած ծածկռտուքի մասին: Այս մասին հայտնում է թուրքական «Սաբահ»-ը:
Թուրքիայի իշխող «Արդարություն և զարգացում» կուսակցության նահանգային գրասենյակների ղեկավարների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ Էրդողանը մանրամասներ է հայտնել հեռախոսազրույցից: Նա նշել է, որ Թրամփի հետ զրույցի ընթացքում օրակարգում եղել է նաև այդ երկրում հետախուզման մեջ հայտարարված իր թիկնազորի անդամների հարցը: Թուրքիայի նախագահը ցանկացել է Թրամփի միջամտությունն այս հարցում: Վերջինս էլ Էրդողանին հավաստիացրել է, որ անձամբ կզբաղվի այդ հարցով:
Միացյալ Նահանգներ այցելող Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի դեմ մայրաքաղաք Վաշինգտոնում կազմակերպված խաղաղ ցույցի մասնակիցները մի խումբ թուրք ազգայնամոլների կատաղի հարձակման թիրախ են դարձել: Մի քանի վիրավորներ արնաշաղախ հիվանդանոց են տեղափոխվել: Հայտնի է դարձել, որ հարձակումն իրականացրել են Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցները: Ավելի ուշ հայտնված տեսանյութում երևում է, թե ինչպես է հենց Էրդողանը տալիս ցուցարարների վրա հարձակվելու հրահանգը:
Վաշինգտոնի քաղաքապետ Մուրիել Բոուսերը և ոստիկանապետ Փիթեր Նյուշեմը հունիսի 15-ին կայացած համատեղ մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ հայտարարել են, որ մայիսի 16-ին խաղաղ ցուցարարների վրա հարձակում իրականացրած՝ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի կողմնակից խմբի 12 անդամի ձերբակալության հրաման է տրվել:
