Գերմանացի գրող եւ պատմաբան Միքայել  Հեսեմանն արդեն 20 տարի ուսումնասիրում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարցն ու 3500 էջ ուսումնասիրություն ունի: «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում Հեսմանը շեշտում է, որ հարցը դիտարկե լ է բոլոր կողմերից, եւ կասկած չկա, որ հարյուր տարի առաջ կատարվածը Ցեղասպանություն է: «Ես կարծում եմ, որ Բունդեսթագը պետք է անհապաղ ճանաչի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը: Գերմանիայի կանցլերը` Անգելա Մերկելը չպետք է հապաղի, քանի որ սա շատ կարեւոր հարց է: Ես Գերմանիայում հայտարարել եմ, այստեղ էլ եմ ասում, այո, Գերմանիան կրում է պատասխանատվություն: Իհարկե, Գերմանիան մեղավոր չէ այնչափ, որչափ Օսմանյան կայսրությունը, սակայն Գերմանիան տեղյակ է եղել, թե ինչ է կատարվում, եւ ոչինչ չի ձեռնարկել: Դա պատասխանատվություն է, եւ, կարծում եմ, Բունդեսթագը պետք է ճանաչի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»,- ասաց Հեսեմանը:

Նա շեշտում է, որ եթե 100 տարի առաջ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը դատապարտվեր, ապա այսօր Մերձավոր Արեւելքում բռնությունները, մարդկության դեմ հանցագործությունները չէին կատարվի: «Այսօր մենք տեսնում ենք, թե ինչ է կատարվում Մերձավոր Արեւելքում, թե ինչպես են մարդկանց սպանում: Գիտե՞ք, թե ինչու է դա այսօր կատարվում, որովհետեւ Հայոց ցեղասպանության մեղավորները հպարտ քայլում են եւ հայտարարում, թե նման բան տեղի չի ունեցել: Նրանք վստահ են, որ ոչ ոք չի հիշում Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, եւ դա է պատճառը, որ այսօր մարդկանց սպանում են, ցեղասպանում, ստիպում, որ նր անք դառնան գաղթական: Եթե հարյուր տարի առաջ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը դատապարտվեր, հետագա ցեղասպանություններն էլ չէին լինի»,- ասաց Հեսեմանը:

ԳԱԱ-ում մեկնարկել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին նվիրված «Հայոց ցեղասպանություն-100. ճանաչումից` հատուցում» խորագրով միջազգային գիտաժողովը, որին մասնակցում է ավելի քան 100 մասնագետ աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներից:
