Ազնվամորու մեջ կարելի է հայտնաբերել 200 մոլեկուլ, որոնք պատասխանատու են այդ պտուղին բնորոշ բույրի համար: Ինչպես նշում է Live Science, նրանցից մեկը` կեթոնը, ավելացնում են կոնֆետների, օճառի, մոմերի մեջ, որպեսզի նրանցից տարածվող բույրը համապատասխանի բնականին: Նաև, համաձայն բազմաթիվ հետազոտությունների, կեթոնը նպաստում է քաշի նվազեցմանը: Օրինակ` 2010թ.-ին գիտնականները պարզեցին, որ ազնվամորու կեթոնը նման է կապսաիցինին (հաղորդում է սրություն չիլի պղպեղին): Իսկ կապսաիցինը` ապացուցված է, նվազեցնում է քաշը:
2005թ.-ին փորձեր էին անցկացվել մկների վրա, որոնք ցույց տվեցին, որ կեթոնը թույլ չի տալիս մեծացնել լյարդը և մարմնի օրգանների շուրջ վիսցերալ ճարպ ձևավորել: Մեկ այլ հետազոտություն ցույց տվեց, որ կեթոնը ուժեղացնում է լիպիդների (ճարպային մոլեկուլների) տրոհման գործընթացը ճարպային բջիջներում: Իսկ 2010թ.-ին գիտնականները իմացան, որ կեթոնը խթանում է ճարպային բջիջները՝ ստիպելով նրանց ավելի շատ ադիպոնեքթինի սպիտակույց արտաթորել: Ընդ որում` ադիպոնեքթինի ցածր մակարդակը ավելի հաճախ հանդիպում է գեր և 2-րդ տիպի շաքարախտով տառապող մարդկանց մոտ:
Անցած տարի հայտարարվեց նոր փորձերի արդյունքների մասին: Նշված փորձերի ընթացքում մկներին կերակրում էին ճարպոտ կերակուր և զուգահեռ տալիս էին կեթոն` էլագինյան թթվի հետ միասին (ազնվամորու մեկ այլ բաղադրիչ): Պարզվեց, որ լյարդում կեթոնը փոխում է գեների արտահայտչությունը (էքսպրեսիան), ինչը բարելավում է օրգանիզմի վիճակը:
Սակայն այս տարվա հետազոտությունները, որոնք անց էին կացվել Դանիայում, ցույց տվեցին՝ կեթոնը ինքն իրեն չի կարող պակասեցնել ճարպային կուտակումները: Զուգահեռ հայտնաբերվեցին կեթոնի նոր հատկություններ` մաշկի երիտասարդացումը: Կեթոնը քսելուց հետո մաշկը դառնում է ավելի ճկուն, իսկ մազերի աճի ակտիվությունը ի հայտ է գալիս հինգ ամսվա ընթացքում: Արժի նաև իմանալ, որ ազնվամորու կեթոնը իջեցնում է շաքարի մակարդակը և արյունահոսության ռիսկերը: Միևնույն ժամանակ, այն փոխազդում է այլ ակտիվ նյութերի հետ, այդ իսկ պատճառով` ավելի լավ է կեթոնը չհամատեղել այն դեղամիջոցների հետ, որոնք կարգավորում են սրտի բաբախումների հաճախականությունը, քոլեստերինի և հորմոնների մակարդակը:
