Բռնցքամարտի Հայաստանի հավաքականը հունիսի 15-24-ը Խարկովում կայացած Եվրոպայի առաջնությունում նվաճել է 1 ոսկե մեդալ: 64 կգ քաշային կարգում Եվրոպայի չեմպոնի կոչումը նվաճել է Հովհաննես Բաչկովը:
Հայաստանի բռնցքամարտի ֆեդերացիայի նախագահ Արթուր Գևորգյանը ՀԲՖ մամուլի ծառայության հետ զրույցում խոսել է Եվրոպայի առաջնությունում Հայաստանի հավաքականի մասնակցության մասին:
«Հավաքականը լավ պատրաստված էր մեկնել Եվրոպայի առաջնությանը, ինչի վառ արդյունքն էր մեր մարզիկների տպավորիչ ելույթները: Հաջողության հասնելու մեծ շանսեր ուներ նաև 91 կգ քաշային Նարեկ Մանասյանը, սակայն, մրցավաների կասկածելի որոշումների արդյունքում հաղթանակը շնորհվեց մրցակցին՝ Եվրոպայի, աշխարհի ու Օլիմպիական չեմպիոն Եվգենի Տիշչենկոյին: Համոզված եմ, որ Մանասյանի հաղթանակները դեռ առջևում են»:
Անդրադառնալով Հովհաննես Բաչկովի՝ ոսկե մեդալը նվաճելուն ՀԲՖ նախագահն ասաց.
«Շնորհավորում եմ մեր մարզիկին, մարզչական շտաբին և ամբողջ հայ ազգին: Ուրախ եմ, որ 7-ամյա ընդմիջումից հետո Եվրոպայի առաջնությունում կարողացանք ոսկե մեդալ նվաճել: Հովհաննես Բաչկովը մեր փորձառու բռնցքամարտիկներից է, բայց ամեն անգամ վերջին պահին ինչ-որ բան նրան խանգարում էր հաջողության հասնել Եվրոպայի կամ աշխարհի առաջնությունններում: Այս հաղթանակը մեր մարզիկի երկարատև ու քրտնաջան, ինչպես նաև ֆեդերացիայի հետևողական աշխատանքի արդյունքն է»:
