Ինչի համար են ջինսե տաբատի վրայի մետաղական օղակները

Երևի բոլորն են նկատել ջինսե տաբատի գրպանների վրա եղած մետաղական օղակները, սակայն քչերը գիտեն, թե ինչի համար են դրանք անհրաժեշտ։ Դրանք ամրացվում են հագուստի այն հատվածներում, որտեղ կրողի շարժումների հետևանքով պատռվածք առաջանալու հավանականությունն առավել մեծ է: Այս օղակներն օգնում են, որպեսզի գործվածքը չպատռվի ու, ըստ այդմ, հնարավորինս երկար ծառայի կրողին:
Աղբյուրը մանրամասնում է, որ 1870-ականներին ջինսե տաբատները կրում էին բանվորները, որոնց հագին դրանք շատ շուտ էին պատռվում: Ուստի՝ մի անգամ բանվորներից մեկի կինը դիմեց դերձակ Ջեյքոբ Դևիսին` խնդրելով ստեղծել առավել դիմացկուն ջինսե տաբատներ։
Դևիսի մտքում ի հայտ եկավ տաբատների` տղամարդկանց շարժումներից առավել հաճախ պատռվող հատվածներում նման օղակներ ամրացնելու գաղափարը: Հետագայում դերձակը համագործակցություն սկսեց Լիվայ (Լևի) Ստրաուսի հետ, ինչի արդյունքում ստեղծված տաբատներն իսկական «հիթ» դարձան բանվորների շրջանում։
