Գիտնականներն ուսումնասիրել են 19-82 տարեկան 2000 մարդու տվյալները և պարզել, որ նրանց մոտ 43%-ը հանգստյան օրերին մոտ 2 ժամ ավել է քնում, իսկ նրանց մարմնի զանգվածի ինդեքսը կազմում է 22.8, ի տարբերությունը այն մարդկանց, որոնք ավել չեն հանգստանում (23.1): Ուսումնասիրությունները ցույց են տվել, որ հավելյալ քնի յուրաքանչյուր ժամն իջեցնում է ինեդեքսը 0.12-ով:
