«168 ժամ» թերթը գրում է.
«Բանակցություններում ներգրավվելը, իհարկե, լավ է, բայց խնդիրն այն է, որ կողմերը սկզբունքորեն շատ տարբեր կերպով են հասկանում բուն բանակցությունները եւ դրանց վերջնական արդյունքը։ Եվ այն, ինչ մի կողմի համար փոխզիջում է, մյուս կողմի համար բոլորովին էլ փոխզիջում չէ. յուրաքանչյուր կողմը խնդրի լուծումը տեսնում է բացառապես իր սցենարով, եւ այս պայմաններում բանակցություններն անիմաստ են։ Բայց յուրաքանչյուր կողմն էլ համաձայն է մասնակցել բանակցություններին՝ պայմանով, որ դրանք անպայման կավարտվեն այնպես, ինչպես ինքն է ուզում։ Իսկ իրական կյանքում այդպես չի լինում, եւ Ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության դեպքում նույնպես այդպես չի կարող լինել։
Այդ պատճառով ներկայումս, ցավոք, բանակցությունները ոչ մի արդյունք չեն կարող տալ։ Եվ ՄԽ համանախագահների ջանքերն ուղղված են հնարավոր պատերազմը կանխելուն»,- մեր թղթակցին ասել է ռուսաստանցի քաղաքական գործիչ, Կովկասի հարցերով փորձագետ, «Alte et Certe» վերլուծական կենտրոնի ղեկավար Անդրեյ Էպիֆանցեւը` մեկնաբանելով ԵԱՀԿ ՄԽ համանախագահների հայտարարությունը, որ երկու մայրաքաղաքներում կոչ են արել կողմերին «բարեխղճորեն եւ քաղաքական կամք ցուցաբերելով՝ կրկին ներգրավվել բանակցային գործընթացում»:
Ըստ նրա` ո՛չ Բաքվի, ո՛չ էլ Երեւանի դիրքորոշումը չի նպաստում բանակցություններին, դա անիմաստ է, յուրաքանչյուր կողմը խոսում է այն մասին, թե ինչպես մյուս կողմը կկատարի իր պայմանները. «Իսկ իրական դիվանագիտությունում այդպես չի լինում։ Ես կարծում եմ, որ առավելագույն շահավետ սցենար թե՛ Բաքվի, թե՛ Երեւանի կողմից անհնար է։ Ներկայիս իրավիճակի զարգացումների մի քանի սցենար կարելի է գծել։ Առաջինը՝ միջազգային հանրությունը սկսի ճնշում գործադրել երկու կողմերի վրա, ընդգծում եմ՝ երկու կողմերի՝ եւ՛ Բաքվի, եւ՛ Երեւանի վրա՝ նպատակ ունենալով հասնելու ինչ-որ իրական փոխզիջման:
Բայց ցանկացած դեպքում փոխզիջումը ցավոտ կլինի յուրաքանչյուր կողմի համար էլ։ Այսինքն՝ կա՛մ միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է ինչ-որ լուծում առաջարկի եւ ճնշում գործադրի, կա՛մ լայնամասշտաբ պատերազմը կվերսկսվի, բայց այն չի ավարտվի Ադրբեջանի հաղթանակով։ Կարծում եմ՝ Ադրբեջանին թույլ չեն տա երկար պատերազմել, կարող է ապրիլյան քառօրյայի նման մի բան լինել, Ադրբեջանն առաջ գնա մի 1000 քառ. կմ կամ զիջի դիրքերը մի 1000 քառ. կմ։ Ես սա պայմանական եմ ասում։ Այլ իրավիճակ ես չեմ կարող կանխատեսել։ Այնպես, ինչպես Երեւանը չի հրաժարվի Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից, այդպես էլ Բաքուն չի հրաժարվի Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից։ Եվ բանակցությունների ներկայիս ձեւաչափը փակուղային է, տանում է պատերազմի»:
