 ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը Մեծ Բրիտանիայի և Հյուսիսային Իռլանդիայի Միացյալ Թագավորության ազգային տոնի Եղիսաբեթ Երկրորդ Թագուհու պաշտոնական ծննդյան օրվա առթիվ շնորհավորական ուղերձ է հղել Միացյալ Թագավորության Թագուհի Եղիսաբեթ Երկրորդին: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Հանրապետության Նախագահը շնորհավորել և բարեմաղթանքներ է հղել Թագուհուն, արքայական ընտանիքին և բրիտանացի բարեկամ ժողովրդին՝ ազգային տոնի առթիվ: «Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը մեծապես կարևորում է Միացյալ Թագավորության հետ բազմոլորտ համագործակցության զարգացումը: Այս տարի նշվող հայ–բրիտանական դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատման 25-ամյակը լավ առիթ է վերարժևորելու մեր համատեղ անցած ճանապարհը և վերահաստատելու երկուստեք հանձնառությունը՝ խորացնելու և ընդլայնելու մեր միջպետական հարաբերություններն ու ժողովուրդների միջև բարեկամությունը։ 

Վստահ եմ, որ Ձեր առաջնորդության տասնամյակների հարուստ փորձը բրիտանացի ժողովրդին հավելյալ վստահություն և ուժ է հաղորդում` Միացյալ Թագավորության հետագա բարօրությանը նպաստելու և արդի մարտահրավերներին դիմակայելու գործում»,-ասված է Թագուհի Եղիսաբեթ Երկրորդին ուղղված ՀՀ Նախագահի ուղերձում:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը տոնի կապակցությամբ այսօր այցելել է նաև Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Միացյալ Թագավորության դեսպանի կեցավայր` շնորհավորել դեսպան Ջուդիթ Ֆարնուորթին և դեսպանատան ամբողջ անձնակազմին: 

Նշելով, որ վերջին շրջանում Միացյալ Թագավորության իշխանությունների և ժողովրդի առջև ծառացան մի շարք մարտահրավերներ, և Հայաստանը Միացյալ Թագավորության հետ միասին մեծ ցավ ապրեց տեղի ունեցած ողբերգական իրադարձությունների կապակցությամբ, Հանրապետության Նախագահը մաղթել է, որ այս օրը նոր սկիզբ դառնա Միացյալ Թագավորության համար, և հետագա բոլոր գործընթացները միայն բարիք բերեն երկրին ու նրա քաղաքացիներին: 

Նախագահ Սարգսյանը և դեսպան Ֆարնուորթը քննարկել են հայ-բրիտանական երկկողմ կապերի առավել ամրապնդման և փոխգործակցության զարգացման ուղղությամբ հետագա քայլերը: Միացյալ Թագավորության դեսպանն ընդգծել է, որ իր երկիրը պատրաստակամ է շարունակելու աջակցությունը Հայաստանում իրականացվող բարեփոխումներին:
