Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի 12 թիկնապահների դեմ մեղադրանք առաջադրելու որոշումը ցանկալի նորություն է: Չի կարելի թույլ տալ, որ ԱՄՆ մայրաքաղաքում խաղաղ ցուցարարների վրա նրանց դաժան հարձակումն անպատիժ մնա: Այս մասին նշված է The Blade ամերիկյան պարբերականի խմբագրականում:

Հիմա Թրամփի վարչակազմը պետք է վճռական միջոցներ ձեռնարկի այդ անձանց պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու կամ Էրդողանի կառավարությանը տուգանելու համար, եթե այն համագործակցությունից հրաժարվի:

Պարբերականը հայտնում է, որ ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաները կարծում են, որ Թուրքիայում են գտնվում տասնյակ կասկածյալներ: Միջադեպին մասնակցություն ունեցած ԱՄՆ-ում բնակվողները կալանավորվել են: «Սակայն նրանք դա պետք է շատ արագ անեն, քանի որ այս մարդիկ մեղադրվում են ԱՄՆ-ում ցուցարարների վրա հարձակվելու համար, որոնք միայն իրենց իրավունքից են օգտվել, որը նրանց է տրամադրում առաջին ուղղումը: Սա անթույլատրելի է: Չի կարելի թույլ տալ, որ արտասահմանյան անվտանգության ուժերը մտածեն, թե Ամերիկայում այլախոհության ճնշումը կարող են մարսել»,- նշված է հոդվածում:

Հեղինակներն ընդգծում են, թե անիմաստ են այն մեղադրանքները, որոնց կալանավորումներ եւ դատաքննություն չի հետեւում, եւ որոնք արդյունք չեն ունենում: «Թրամփի վարչակազմը պետք է Թուրքիայից պահանջի նրանց հանձնել: Եթե սովորական մեթոդները չգործեն, նախագահ Թրամփը պետք է բանակցություններ վարելու իր հմտություններն օգտագործի՝ Էրդողանին հստակ հասկացնելու համար, որ մերժումը ոչ ցավագին չի լինի: Եվ եթե նրան մերժեն, ԱՄՆ-ն պետք է Թուրքիայում դեսպանատունը փակի: Սա աշխարհին ցույց տալու միջոց է, որ Ամերիկայում խոսքի ազատությունն արժեւորվում է»,- ամփոփել են հեղինակները:
