Վաշինգտոն քաղաքի և Մերիլենդ նահանգի գլխավոր դատախազները հայց են ներկայացրել ընդդեմ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի՝ մեղադրելով, որ նա խախտել է երկրի սահմանադրությունը՝ չխզելով իր կապերը բիզնեսի հետ երկրի ղեկավարի պաշտոնը ստանձնելուց հետո: Այս մասին հայտնում է AP գործակալությունը:

Աղբյուրի տվյալների համաձայն՝ հայցը ներկայացվել է Մերիլենդ նահանգի դատարան: Վաշինգտոնի և Մերիլենդի գլխավոր դատախազներ Կառլ Ռասինի և Բրայան Ֆրոշի խոսքով՝ հայցը ներկայացվել է այն կապակցությամբ, որ Թրամփը շարունակում է մասնակցել գույքի վերաբերյալ գործողություններին և այլ կերպ «ներգրավված է» բիզնեսի մեջ, ինչը, ԱՄՆ սահմանադրության համաձայն, կարող է շահերի բախում ճանաչվել:

«Նախագահի մասնակցությամբ շահերի բախումները սպառնում են մեր ժողովրդավարությանը: Մենք չենք կարող ընդունել սահմանադրության շարունակական խախտումները նախագահի կողմից և ամերիկացիների իրավունքների անտեսումը որպես նոր ընդունելի ստատուս քվո», - ասել է Ֆոստերը:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Սան Ֆրանցիսկոյի իններորդ շրջանի դատարանն արգելափակել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի միգրացիոն հրամանագիրը, որը ժամանակավորապես դադարեցնում է առավելապես մահմեդական բնակչություն ունեցող երկրների քաղաքացիների մուտքն ԱՄՆ: Հայտնի է, որ ավելի վաղ նման որոշում է կայացրել Վիրջինիա նահանգի Ռիչմոնդ քաղաքի չորրորդ վերաքննիչ դատարանը:
