«Մենք մեկ սպասելիք ունենք, և դա նոր չէ: Այդ սպասելիքը հետևյալն է. միջնորդները վերջապես պետք է հասնեն նրան, որ Վիեննայի և Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի պայմանավորվածությունները կյանքի կոչվեն: Այսօր խոսքը միայն դրա մասին է և պատահական չէ, որ հենց Վիեննայում ձևավորվեց այն մոտեցումը, որ մինչև կողմերի միջև չձևավորվի վստահության մթնոլորտ՝ բանակցային գործընթացում խոսել առաջընթացի մասին անհնար է: Իսկ այդ վստահության մթնոլորտի բաղկացուցիչ մասը, անհրաժեշտ, բայց ոչ բավարար պայմանը հենց այն է, որ չկրակեն, սադրանքներ չլինեն: Դրա արդյունքը մենք պետք է ուղղակի տեսնենք, ժողովուրդը պետք է տեսնի, որ չեն կրակում, սադրանքներ չեն կազմակերպում, այ դա կլինի արդյունքը: Ըստ էության Վիեննան և Սանկտ Պետերբուրգը դա են պահանջում»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ, ասաց Քոչարյանը:
Խոսելով պատերազմի վերսկսման հնարավորության շուրջ խոսակցությունների ակտիվացման մասին՝ ՀՀ փոխարտգործնախարարը նկատեց, որ դրանք նոր չեն: «Տարիներ շարունակ այդ սուրն անընդհատ փորձում է թափ տալ հենց Բաքուն, նաև շփման գծում իրականացնում քայլեր, որոնք բարձրացնում են լարվածությունը: Իհարկե, այդ ամենը մտահոգություն է առաջացնում առաջին հերթին հենց միջնորդ պետությունների մոտ, որովհետև համանախագահ երեք երկրներն էլ ՄԱԿ-ի անվտանգության խորհրդի մշտական անդամ են, պատասխանատու են խաղաղության համար աշխարհի ցանկացած ծայրում, առավել ևս այն գոտում, որտեղ միջնորդ են»,- շեշտեց ՀՀ ԱԳ փոխնախարարը:
Այդ տեսակետից, Շավարշ Քոչարյանը բնական համարեց խոսակցությունները և նշեց, որ դրանք նաև վտանգի մասին ահազանգ են, ուստի ԵԱՀԿ ՄԽ համանախագահները փորձում են քայլեր ձեռնարկել, որպեսզի կանխեն ապակայունացումը, որը, փոխնախարարի գնահատմամբ, տարածաշրջանում որևէ մեկին պետք չէ:
