ԵՄ-ում աճում է թմրադեղերի չարաշահման հետեւանքով մահերի քանակը։ Նման միտում է նկատվում արդեն երրորդ տարին հաջորդաբար։ Ըստ Թմրադեղերի մոնիտորինգային եվրոպական կենտրոնի 2015 թ․ հետազոտության՝ թմրադեղերի չարաշահումից մահացել է 8441 մարդ, ինչը 6 տոկոսով շատ է, քան մեկ տարի առաջ, հայտնում է DW-ը։
Դեպքերի գրեթե կեսը բաժին է ընկնում Գերմանիային ու Մեծ Բրիտանիային։ Մահացու ելքերի 80 տոկոսը կապակցված է հերոինի կամ օպիատների չարաշահման հետ։ Փորձագետները դա կապակցում են թմրադեղերի բաղադրության մեջ գործող մաքուր նյութի քանակի ավելացման հետ, ինչը բացատրվում է հերոինի ու օպիատի գների անկումով։ Չափաբաժնի չարաշահումից մահացածների 78 տոկոսը տղամարդիկ են։
Ըստ հետազոտության, ԵՄ 93 մլն քաղաքացիներ կյանքում գոնե մեկ անգամ փորձել են արգելված թմրանյութեր։ Դա ԵՄ-ի 15-64 տարեկան բնակչության ավելի քան մեկ քառորդն է։ «Թմրադեղերի խնդիրների հետեւանքները զգալի մարտահրավեր են մնում եվրոպական հասարակության համար»,- հայտնել է ԵՄ ներքին գործերով հանձնակատար Դիմիտրիս Ավրամոպուլոսը, ներկայացնելով հակաթմրադեղային գերատեսչության հաշվետվությունը։
