ՄԱԿ–ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի՝ հումանիտար հարցերով տեղակալ Սթիվեն ՕÿԲրայենը ելույթ ունենալով Անվտանգության խորհրդի նիստում հայտարարել է, որ Եմենը կանգնած է սոցիալական, տնտեսական և իրավական լիակատար փլուզման առջև, իսկ մոտ 7 միլիոն մարդ ուղղակի սովամահության եզրին է հայտնվել: «Եմենի բնակիչները կարիքավոր են, առողջական խնդիրներ ունեն, զոհվում են, մինչդեռ ողջ աշխարհը աչք է փակում սրա վրա։ Ճգնաժամը ոչ թե մոտենում է, այլ արդեն սկսվել է մեր աչքի առաջ»,– հայտարարել է ՕÿԲրայենը: Վերջինս խոսել է նաև երկրում մոլեգնող խոլերայի համաճարակի վերաբերյալ՝ ճշտելով, որ ներկայում Եմենում գրանցվել է խոլերայի 60 հազար դեպք, իսկ 500 մարդ արդեն մահացել է համաճարակից: Արդյունքում ՄԱԿ–ը զգուշացրել է Սաուդյան Արաբիայի գլխավորած կոալիցիային՝ չհարձակվել Կարմիր ծովի Հոդեյդա նավահանգստի վրա, որով Եմեն է մուտք գործում ներկրվող պարենի 80%–ը և չվտանգել առանց այդ էլ ծանր վիճակում գտնվող քաղաքացիների՝ մազից կախված կյանքը, ինչի առիթով դեռ որևէ արձագանք չի հնչել:
 
Բնական է. ընդամենը երեք օր առաջ Եմենում ՄԱԿ–ի հումանիտար հարցերի պատասխանատու Ջիմի Մաք Գոլդրիկն էր հակամարտող կողմերին կոչ արել դադարեցնել պատերազմը, իսկ երկրից դուրս գտնվող ուժերին էլ հորդորել՝ կրակին յուղ չլցնել, անդրադառնալով Թաազ քաղաքում բռնությունների ծավալմանը, համարյա բոլոր բուժկենտրոնների վնասմանն ու հարյուրավոր զոհերի, վիրավորների փաստին, որոնց «շուրջ 70 տոկոսը կանայք և երեխաներ են»: Սակայն, այդ կոչից անմիջապես հետո Եմենի հարավային հատվածի շարժման ղեկավարներից Մոհամմեդ Ալ Նաամանին հայտարարեց, որ Սաուդյան Արաբիան Սիրիայի ու Իրաքի ճակատներից հազարավոր ահաբեկիչներ է տեղափոխում Եմենի հարավային հատված և, ճամբարներում վարժեցնելով, մտադիր է նրանց հանել Եմենի հարավային հատվածի դիմադրության դեմ: Ավելին՝ Սաուդյան Արաբիայի թագավորության հեռուստաալիքը եթեր հեռարձակեց մի հաղորդում, որում ոչ միայն բազում սպառնալիքներ հնչեցին կառավարության դեմ ապստամբած և Իրանի դաշնակից հութիների հասցեին, այլև ցուցադրվեց մի քարտեզ, որում Եմենի տարածքի մի զգալի մաս ներառված էր Արաբիայի կազմում:
 
 
Այդ առիթով, ի դեպ, Իրանի ԱԳ նախարարության խոսնակ Բահրամ Ղասեմին հայտարարեց, որ Արաբիան ակնհայտ ոտնձգություն է անում Եմենի տարածքային ամբողջականության նկատմամբ և խոսելով այն մասին, որ անգամ ՄԱԿ–ն է ընդունել Իրանի կողմից Եմենում չհայտնաբերված զենքի վերաբերյալ փաստը, հավելեց, թե ինչպես Սիրիայի պարագայում, Եմենի դեպքում էլ Իրանը հանդես է գալիս խնդրի քաղաքական կարգավորման օգտին:
