Ըստ գերմանական Die Welt-ի տեղեկությունների՝ Գերմանիան կտրականապես դեմ է արտահայտվել, որ հաջորդ տարվա ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ երկրների ղեկավարների հանդիպումը տեղի ունենա Ստամբուլում։ Գերմանիայի դեմ արշավին միացել են նաև Ֆրանսիան, Դանիան և Նիդերլանդները. «Մենք չենք ցանկանում, որ կարծիք ստեղծվի, թե մենք պաշտպանում ենք թուրքական կառավարության ներքին քաղաքականությունը»։
Հիշեցնեմ, որ 2016թ.-ին Վարշավայում կայացած ՆԱՏՕ-ի երկրների ղեկավարների գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ Թուրքիայի նախագահը առաջարկել էր հաջորդ երկու գագաթնաժողովներն անցկացնել Թուրքիայում։ ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ երկրներն այդ ժամանակ պատասխան չէին տվել, սակայն շատերի կարծիքով՝ Էրդողանի առաջարկն ընդունելի էր։ Հիմա իրավիճակը կտրուկ փոխվել է։ Թուրք-գերմանական հարաբերություններում տեղի ունեցած վայրիվերումները՝ կապված Բունդեսթագի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման և թուրք նախարարների հանդիպումների արգելքը գերմանաբնակ թուրքերի հետ, վատթարացրել են հարաբերությունները Բեռլինի և Անկարայի միջև։ Այդ ամենին ի պատասխան՝ Անկարան փորձում է «պատժել» Մերկելին՝ թույլ չտալով գերմանացի պատգամավորներին այցելել Ինջիրլիկ ռազմակայանում ծառայող գերմանացի զինվորականներին։

Նիդերլանդները և Դանիան ևս բացասաբար վերաբերվեցին թուրք նախարարների այցերին իրենց երկրներ։
Ժամանակն է, որպեսզի Գերմանիան և նրա եվրոպացի գործընկերները պատասխանեն Անկարայի լկտի պահվածքին։ Սա դեռ սկիզբն է. Թուրքիան զրկվում է միջազգային կարևոր գագաթնաժողով անցկացնելու հնարավորությունից։
