Սերբիան չի պատրաստվում անդամակցել Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքին: Այդ մասին Pink հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել Է Սերբիայի գործող վարչապետ եւ նախագահ ընտրված Ալեքսանդար Վուչիչը:
«Ես մասնակցել եմ ՆԱՏՕ-ի խորհրդի նիստին եւ բոլորին ասել եմ, որ մենք նման ձգտում չունենք: Մենք ձգտում ենք ռազմական առումով լինել չեզոք, լինել ռազմական դաշինքներից դուրս»,-ասել Է վարչապետը՝ հավելելով, որ հենց դրա համար Է երկիրը միջոցներ ներդնում անվտանգության բնագավառում: Կառավարության ղեկավարը հիշեցրել Է, որ զինվորականներն ու ոստիկանությունը ստացել են նոր հանդերձանք, երկիր են ժամանում ինը նոր ուղղաթիռներ, 60 օրվա ընթացքում երկիր կբերվեն ռուսական ՄիԳ-եր: Միաժամանակ Վուչիչը Սերբիայի համար կարեւորել Է եվրոպական ուղին:
Պատասխանելով սերբ արմատականների առաջնորդ Վոյիսլավ Շեշելի՝ իրեն վերահասցեագրված հարցին՝ «դեռ որքան Է նա պատրաստվում նստել երկու աթոռի վրա եւ երկխոսություն վարել Ռուսաստանի եւ եվրամիության հետ», Վուչիչը պատասխանել Է. «Դա երկու աթոռ չԷ: Շեշելն ընտրում Է եզրային աթոռներից մեկը, իսկ ես ընտրում եմ այն, որը մեջտեղում Է՝ սերբական աթոռը, եւ չեմ ցանկանում ընտրել մեկ ուրիշը»:
Ավելի վաղ Վուչիչը հայտարարել Է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ին ՍԵրբիայի անդամակցությունը բազմաթիվ խնդիրներ կլուծեր, բայց հասարակությանը կպառակտեր տասնամյակներով, քանի որ նման որոշումը բնակչության 75 տոկոսի կամքին հակառակ կլիներ: Ռուսաստանն անհատույց Սերբիային Է հանձնել վեց ՄիԳ-29 բազմանպատակային կործանիչներ, որոնք արդիականացումից հետո մինչեւ տարեվերջ կտրամադրվեն հանրապետության զինված ուժերին: Բացի այդ, սերբ զինվորականները կստանան 30 Տ-72 տանկ եւ հետեւակի 30 մարտական մեքենա: Սպասվում Է, որ Սերբիային կհանձնվեն «Բուկ-Մ1» եւ «Բուկ-Մ2» զենիթահրթիռիյին համալիրներ, ինչպես նաեւ «Տունգուսկա» զենիթային հրթիռահրետանային համալիրներ: Իր կողմից Սերբիային օգնություն Է խոստացել նաեւ Բելառուսը. Մինսկը 2018 թվականին Բելգրադին կմատակարարի ութ ՄիԳ-29 եւ երկու դիվիզիոն «Բուկ» համալիրներ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
