«Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական կազմակերպությունը ստանձնել է Եգիպտոսում ղպտի քրիստոնյաների վրա հարձակման պատասխանատվությունը: Ուրբաթ Մինյա նահանգում Էլ Ադավա բնակավայրի մոտակայքում գտնվող Սուրբ Սամուիլի եկեղեցու դիմաց ավտոմատներից կրակել են ղպտի քրիստոնյաների ավտոբուսի վրա: Պատճառը կրոնական պատկանելությունն է եղել:

Կրակոցների հետևանքով 29 հոգի զոհվել է:

Փրկվածները պատմել են, որ նախքան կրակ բացելը ահաբեկիչները նրանց ստիպել են իջնել ավտոբուսից, հարցրել են, թե արդյոք քրիստոնյա են: Նաև նրանց հորդորել են փոխել հավատը, ասել, որ այսուհետ իսլամ են դավանելու, սակայն արդյունքում նրանց սառնասրտորեն սպանել են:
