Բրյուսելում բացվում Է ՆԱՏՕ-ի՝ վերջին տասնամյակի ընթացքում ամենակարճատեւ գագաթնաժողովը: Այն կետեւի մոտավորապես 9 ժամ, ընդ որում ժամանակի մեծ մասը նվիրված կլինի հանդիսավոր տարբեր միջոցառումների, ներառյալ դաշինքի նոր կենտրոնակայանի եւ երկու հուշահմալիրների բացումը:
Միակ աշխատանքային նսստաշրջանը կկայանա գործնական ընթրիքի ձեւաչափով եւ կտեւի մոտավորապես երեք ժամ: Առաջին մեկուկես ժամում երեքրոպեանոց ճառերով հանդես կգան ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Ենս Ստոլտենբերգը եւ դաշինքի բոլոր 28 պետությունների ղեկավարները: Հաջորդ մեկուկես ժամը նրանք կտրամադրեն գագաթնաժողովի երկու հանգուցային թեմաների՝ ռազմական ծախսերի ավելացման եւ «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման դեմ պայքարի քննարկմանը: Այդ քննարկումն առանձնակի նշանակություն կունենա Մանչեսթրում կատարված ահաբեկչության ֆոնին:
ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփն առաջին անգամ ելույթ կունենա ՆԱՏՕ-ի բարձր մակարդակի հանդիպմանը: Բրյուսելում նրանից ակնկալում են դաշինքի շրջանակներում Վաշինգտոնի ստանձնած բոլոր պարտավորությունների հավաստումը, իսկ փոխարենը անդամ երկրները կխոստանան մեծացնել իրենց պաշտպանական բյուջեները եւ ընդլայնել զենքի ու տեխնիկայի գնումները, որոնց հիմնական մատակարարը ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմարդյունաբերական համալիրն Է, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
