«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է.

«Էջմիածնի քաղաքապետի ընտրություններից առաջ տեղի ունեցած՝ բռնությամբ եւ կրակոցներով զուգորդված հայտնի միջադեպի գործով դատաքննությունը երեկ շարունակվել է: Դատարանը պետք է հարցաքններ Էջմիածնի ավագանու անդամ, գործով տուժող Ստեփան Աբգարյանին՝ Էջմիածնի նախկին քաղաքապետ Հրաչիկ Աբգարյանի եղբորորդուն, սակայն նա, ինչպես նախորդ նիստերին, երեկ նույնպես բացակայել է: Գործով վկա է նաեւ նրա հայրը՝ Սիմոն Աբգարյանը, ով նույնպես բացակայում էր մինչ այժմ տեղի ունեցած դատական նիստերից, իսկ երեկվա նիստին ներկա է եղել: Նա նշել է, որ որդին բացակայում է, քանի որ հանրապետությունում չէ՝ այս պահին գտնվում է ԼՂՀ-ում:

Դատարանը հորդորել է Ս. Աբգարյանին անհրաժեշտ բոլոր միջոցները ձեռնարկել, որպեսզի որդին ներկա լինի հաջորդ դատական նիստին, այլապես ստիպված կլինեն նրան բերման ենթարկելու որոշում կայացնել: 

Կարեն եւ Արման Գրիգորյանները գործով ոչ մի կարգավիճակ չունեն՝ չեն անցնում ոչ որպես տուժող, ոչ որպես մեղադրյալ: Եվ չնայած պաշտպան Հարությունյանը նախաքննության ավարտին միջնորդություն էր ներկայացրել՝ նրանց որպես մեղադրյալ ներգրավելու պահանջով, միջնորդությունը մերժվել է: «Այս պահին, ըստ էության, ոչ նախաքննական մարմինը, ոչ դատարանն այս հարցին անդրադարձ չեն կատարել: Աղմկահարույց, բազմաթիվ մարդկանց ներգրավվածությամբ այդ գործով, ըստ էության, չունեմ որեւէ լուրջ վկա, որի ցուցմունքի վրա հիմնվեմ եւ կրկնեմ իմ միջնորդությունը, այն դեպքում, երբ ամբողջ Էջմիածինը տեղյակ է այդ գործին»,-ասաց փաստաբանը՝ իրավիճակը բացատրելով քաղաքում տիրող վախի մթնոլորտով:

«Էջմիածնում վախի մթնոլորտ է, ու որեւէ մեկը ռիսկ չի անում գալ ու ցուցմունք տալ քաղաքապետի, նրա ընտանիքի ու նրանց մերձավորների դեմ»,- ասաց Հարությունյանը՝ հավելելով, որ գործով երկու տուժողներն էլ իրենց ցուցմունքներում պնդել են Կարեն եւ Արման Գրիգորյանների՝ ծեծկռտուքին ներգրավված լինելու մասին: «Իմ պաշտպանյալ Արթուր Թումանյանը դատարանում շարունակել է պնդել իր ցուցմունքները, տուժող Աբգարյանը խուսափում է դատարան ներկայանալ, վկան կիսատ-պռատ ցուցմունքներ է տալիս: Սա է այս պահին դատաքննության մեր ունեցած պատկերը»,-ասաց պաշտպանը:

Իսկ դատարանը հակված է արդար քննություն վարելու եւ իրական մեղավորներին պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու հարցում, թե կողմնակալություն է ցուցաբերում «Այս պահի դրությամբ կողմնակալության, կողմնակի դիտորդի համար ակնառու որեւէ նման գործողություն չեմ տեսել, այլապես բացարկ կհայտնեի»,-արձագանքեց փաստաբանը: Նշենք, որ գործով դատավորը Վահե Խալաթյանն է, իսկ հաջորդ դատական նիստը նշանակվել է հունիսի 6-ին»:
