Իրանի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ջավադ Զարիֆն արձագանքել Է Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության (ԻԻՀ) հասցեին հնչած քննադատական դիտողություններին, որոնք մայիսի 21-ին արվել են ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի կողմից Էր Ռիադում կայացած աբարա-իսլամա-ամերիկյան գագաթնաժողովում, ենթադրելով, թե Միացյալ Նահանգները ցանկանում Է փող կորզել Սաուդյան Արաբիայից, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:     
«Իրանը ներկայիս ընտրություններից անմիջապես հետո ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահի կողմից գրոհի Է ենթարկվել ժողովրդավարության եւ չափավորության այդ պատվարում: Արտաքին քաղաքականությու՞ն թե՞ պարզապես 480 միլիարդ դոլարի կորզում Սաուդյան Արաբիայից»,- գրել Է Ջավադ Զարիֆը Twitter-ում՝ բերով նաեւ մեջբերումներ Թրամփի արտասանած ճառից:  
Սաուդյան Արաբիայի մայրաքաղաքում կայացած հանդիպմանն ԱՄՆ-ի ղեկավարն ԻԻՀ-ին մեղադրել Է զինյալներին զենքի մատակարարումների մեջ, ինչպես նաեւ հայտարարել Է Իրանի պատասխանատվության մասին Լիբանանի, Իրաքի, Եմենի եւ Սիրիայի անկայուն իրադրության համար: Նրա խոսքով՝ քանի դեռ Թեհրանը «գործընկեր լինելու մտադրություն չի հայտնի խաղաղության (հաստատման) համար, բոլոր երկրները եւ ժողովուրդները պետք Է համատեղ ջանքերով մեկուսացնեն Իրանին»:      
Միացյալ Նահանգների վարչակազմի ղեկավարի Սաուդյան Արաբիա երկօրյա այցի ժամանակ կնքվել են բազմամիլիարդանոց գործարքներ, որոնց թվում Է Սաուդյան Արաբիային գրեթե 110 միլիարդ դոլար գումարի սպառազինությունների եւ ռազմական սարքավորանքի մատակարարման համաձայնագիրը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
